Interesting story.

@aesthyrian one of the points brought up during the Prop 19 debate was that legalizing marijuana in California would only put a tiny dent in Mexican cartel efforts because most people in Ca don't buy Mexican herb anyway. If you've ever been to Venice Beach, you'd know why.

If weed was legal, the tunnel would still exist. They would merely move another product. For them, I do not think the most important thing is they have weed but they have the tunnels and systems to get things illegally in America. That is the commodity, the weed is just an item. I see it no difference as just another item they deal in.

I wish I had a glimpse of a realistic solution but weed laws did not make the tunnels in my belief. The desire for these people to make money smuggling is what did it. The weed is just one part of what likely goes through tunnels.
