if you google 3mix-mp or lesion sterilization tissue repair, you will find out that they don't need to do root canals nearly as often as they do. They found out years ago that propylene glycol mixed with 3mix, a common dental anti-biotic, works so well as a carrier (over water) that the entire tooth and dentene are penetrated. And they've found that once the infection is gone the tooth re-mineralizes and grows back to health, so they remove as little as possible.
But the big question is how will all of our dentists make up all of that lost revenue, if they can heal people's teeth instead of replaceing or crowning them?
So, since the study was published in 2010, and dentists are using it all over the world...when will the USA look at it, and incorporate it into their "standard of care?"
I'm guessing not until one of the ingredients is at least as costly as the root canal, or as long as they can drag their feet about it. What do you think?
