These are cool vapes but the actual usability was goofy for me. I hated having that hinge and felt like it never sealed properly and Id have to squeeze the bottom down to seal it just my 2 cents...

Yes, I've heard this happens to some units. Luckily my hinge was fine but I've read that any hinge problems were fixed on the Steampunk edition units that were introduced later and this fix should also be in the AVLP2.
On the topic of the AVLP being a great tasting sipper. It certainly is. I always run a whole 5 min session at 350F with the caps.

One of things they worked on was the hinge...my hinge became loose and a nuisance. Gary did say that they had fixed it. So, I am looking forward for the next generation. The flavor is amazing...and I will keep supporting.

some carry their avlp in their jean's back pocket, then forget, and sit on it. the door & hinge can't handle that. is not like a framed cell. if you sit on it even briefly, it will flatten the arch in the door and this happens more often than we think. travel case is a must for me.
Just put it in your front pocket. I do that daily and never even had the mouthpiece come off. I do have a travel case to bring a grinder and all other stuff I need when visiting friends, but for outdoor activities and daily use when walking my dog it just gets put in my front pocket together with some dosing capsules, since it's a tiny device that works great even when I wear skinny jeans, and there is even still enough room to put my wallet in the same pocket.
Doing the same is unthinkable with the Tinymight 2, it barely fits inside the empty jeans pockets and causes a huge visible bulge

I've not had any hinge issues with my Steampunk. I've had it for quite a while, so I am guessing they did fix it. I can't say that I sit on it or open it forcefully or anything. Just normal open, put in dose cap, close over and over and over and - It's as awesome as it was since the day I bought it. Nothing fraying, nothing wearing out, no colors worn off. It looks brand new. It might smell like weed, thats about it.

Talk to me about the loading tool.
I’m not a big dosing capsule user. However, it seems that dosing caps are the way to go with the avlp pro.
I found one post saying that loading tool is good for creating a pressed puck. All my other convection vapes are lightly packed coarse grind.
So is the loading tool useful?

Don't have the loading tool. With the capsules I just don't need it. I just scoop from the grinder using the capsule itself.
People who have it say it's great. I believe them because loading the bowl itself is a little messy so the tool solves that. So would an appropriately sized funnel imho.

Anyone have experience with thevapelifestore.com? Looks like I could get the dosing bundle for significantly cheaper from there than Airvape ($53 vs $61 factoring in shipping and applying the best promos I could find). But when I get to payment, it asks to venmo or cash app a dollar to an account, and then they will request the remainder, and it all feels a little sus?

Probably not unless someone could vouch for them, hence why I asked.
As it is I will probably wait to see how I like it, which tool if not both I feel I need, and keep an eye out for the next big sale on accessories (seems like a couple times a year?)

think loading tool is great for oven and dose caps. loading tool insures the perfect amt every time. tbh- caps are only need for travel. the loading tool makes perfect dependable avb pucks that you just push or flick into your favorite container.

I'm my opinion, capsules for out&about if it's gonna regularly be several sessions and to keep the device cleaner for longer. I want capsules to go to the forest , beach, pub... and I've got a wee spoon I guess will do the job at home. On the other hand, I think the on demand mode is not as good with capsules so will see what I do in those cases in which I want on demand with several loads... Maybe transporting grinded weed on capsules and passing the weed to the device when it's time to. Time will tell

Thanks for the replies. I was planning to get dosing caps because I heard it simplifies cleaning. I’m passing on the loading tool. I don’t think pucks are a good idea for me because I like a loose pack. I also figured I can 3d print something.

I like the loading tool for loading caps out of the bottom of my reload
