I haven't ever used the pulsar apx, but it has a pretty decent review by
@VCBud, and he's a guy I trust having watched his videos for years.
I gave two suggestions. The first would be the evic tubo by
@funkyjunky. Awesome device that is capable of fully b extracting the goodies, whether you pack the stems big or small. A big plus with it is that although FJ writes out tge recommended settings for use you can play with the values and manipulate it to get the vaporizer to perform exactly how YOU want it. It has an incredibly wide range of temperatures thst you can adjust by a degree at a time of you wanted. And if you ever do get the desire or opportunity to fiddle with concentrates you will be in good hands, as this bad boy takes on all challengers.
Now, it does utilize glass stems, but the tubo is very affordable and one of our many artisans I'm sure can make you a great wooden stem to use instead, which will up your durability!
This thing truly rips. It is better than many of the desktops on the market (myself and a few others refer to it as a portable cloud EVO.). It also has user replaceable batteries, which is a huge plus in my book because the party never has to stop.
And secondly, I have to echo
@Squiby and recommend a vapcap. This is the apocalypse vaporizer, ready for the fallout. I was very much opposed to a butane powered vape but awhile back i purchased an OG glassy and it was love at first puff. Incredibly simple and intuitive.
I have bought quite a few models since then but I wholeheartedly recommend getting the M to start with. I actually prefer to use my M with an xl condenser and a spinning mouthpiece as it gives the device a little extra lent and us more comfortable for me to hold in my hand. Those are about 30 bucks.
The M uses a stainless steel tip but you could purchase a titanium tip, which is quicker to heat up/cool down and has an adjustable oven depth. I really appreciate both tips. This is also the most pocketable vaporizer you will ever see and really hides well in plain site. Mu vapcap and lighter bother reside in an Altoids tin. If someone does discover it I also keep a small pouch of mint in there and it suddenly is just an aromatherapy device. Alternatively you could keep some loose leaf tobacco and say it is a cigarette, it will play the part incredibly well. I've not actually vapes tobacco but I have the mint and it's quite refreshing.
Keep in mind that you can also buy an induction heater from
@Pipes and you are in business flame free.
Both winners my friend, please put them in consideration.
