Guy's, I don't really know what all the big hoo-ha is over a song....no big deal to me, if you don't like it don't listen to it....simple.
Everyone in the world is entitled to their opinions and beliefs, if you don't like someones view on colour, creed, race whatever it may be...don't associate with them or support whatever they are up to.
Me personally, I am fairly racist and not afraid to admit it...although not strongly racist, as I do have black and Indian accquaintances.
I have also travelled to the Indian and African sub-continents along with the Carribean etc and mingled and socialised with the locals and enjoyed every minute of it...there just seems to be something that comes over these ethnic groups when they come into the western world, that they suddenly grow a chip on their shoulders, quite a lot of the time when these people get disciplined for failures in the workplace out comes the race card...."I'm just getting disciplined for this because I'm black etc" I have witnessed this phrase a few times first hand when having to discipline members of staff for workplace failures....yet a white guy will take the disciplinary if he feels it's worthy without coming out with simillar phrases.
I grew up in a city in Scotland in the 70's and it was normal for most people to be racist to some extent, even although most people didn't think they were.
In my city, I could have counted on one hand how many black people there were...and you never really saw them.
There were a few Indians and Pakistani's, but again you never saw them much...only when you went to the corner shop etc, as that was their business...very rarely would you see them walking down the street.
Here in the U.K even nowadays, blacks, Indians, Pakistanis etc generally congragate in areas and keep themselves to themselves....usually when the ethnics of whatever creed start moving into an area, the whites start moving out to elsewhere as the ethnics generally start to take over whatever area it may be, so before long you start feeling un-easy being a white in your own area and you too move on...which is a real shame that, that happens as the U.K is a white country....but in some areas you would think you were in India or the Carribean etc...and this white flight seems to be happening in my area now, as more and more Indians are moving in.
Also in the U.K crime statistics point to black people being the number one offenders for Rapes, Gun Crime, Muggings etc etc....most times in the press, tv news etc if any woman or girl has been raped the description given is of a black guy, same with muggings, gun crime and stabbings....so it's no wonder that some people here in the U.K still hold that racist view.
I would just like to add that I never wrote my post above to offend anyone or start any arguments, I am merely going with the flow of the topic on hand.
These are my views and these views do hark back to my childhood up bringing, but they are also indulged by the sad state of affairs of the U.K governments open door policy on immigration....my father, grand father and great grandfathers fought in world wars for freedoms, benefits, free healthcare etc but due to this country's policy of letting almost any waif and stray from any country into this country to exploit these benefits and rip the system off, without any real input into the system from them I feel my views are just.
