ABV coconut oil strength concern

It's been an hour so far and I decline to vap...that's how smashed I am. Great feeling.

One question: does the ABV eventually go bad? I have over a years worth of ABV in a tubberware container. Not sure if I could get sick from bacteria growth.

So far it's been 1 hour:

1. Nice body buzz
2. Nice head buzz, usually vaping too much causes me to have panic attacks.
3. No G.I. issues with stomach aches

I'm using a slow cooker witg a Pyrex jug in it..
So iv melted all the oil and mixed in my avb, looks brown and discussing...
Will the end product be brown too ar will it change when I filter through coffee filters.???

mine was dark brown on the hob. But went green once filtered and cooled

Ah good, nice to know, I don't know my temps but it's on high in a slow cooker now, the mix has small bubbles around the edges, so I'm assuming I'm approaching boiling point, maybe 90 degrees, will that be ok???

Should I buy cheescloth??
I have coffee filters but they are white, does that mean they are bleached???

Edit:- Right iv added kafir lime leaves and sicilian lemon extract to the mixture now... smells nice...don't dare taste yet, not till its filtered....

Well I'm happy with how it's came out, nice and green..

Will drop a spoonful in my tea soon and report back tomorrow, iv had a taste already, I'm glad I added the kaffir lime leaves and sicilian lemon extract...

I made some bho and qwiso reclaim today too, been a busy boy.. the bho is amazing,,,
Love the taste, nothing seems to capture terps and flavs like butane..

Here is an update, this makes them much nicer, will report on effects later...
I teaspoon of coconut to 2 teaspoons of Nutella with some riveta thrown in...

The "If You Care" brand of parchment is supposed to be quillon free, so is the Slick Wrap paper.
I haven't used either one though so can't say if they're any good.
I just picked up a roll of Bakwell non-stick baking parchment

Hmm it just doesn't seem to be on the shelves in the uk, iv checked every supermarket and many other shops, all I can get is foil backed parchment paper..
Haven't even got as far as quilon free yet..

I'm sure I would love rosin, I will order some paper online and get some digital hair straighteners, I already have a bench vice, and jacks and clamps if I go that far...

Iv purposely left some popcorn nugs on my ladies this time so I can have some rosin nugs..harvest is due end of Feb....

I will aim to half half oz to an oz of popcorn nugs to play with...

Im not the giving up type, I'm just overwhelmed with all the new fun I'm having at the moment, 3 months ago I didnt know what bho or rosin was, blissfully unaware, setting light to my stash....it's saddening to think how much iv wasted...

Oh well I'm here now, there is plenty of time for me to master these new techniques, specially now I'm not gonna die of smoking soon...

Foil backed parchment (slick wrap?) should be fine
To squash hash I've tried coffee filters and I've tried steel mesh to wrap before putting between parchment
Yield is much higher than flowers and takes slightly less pressure and heat.
My results weren't as tasty as rosin from flowers, but very heavy hitting

Iv managed to find some very old parchment paper that is quilon free...
I will have a squish tonight and see what happens...

Just as a rough guide, how long should I be squishing for and at what temp in Celsius???

I try to squash around 100C (ish cos the straighteners are rubbish lol) depending on the flowers as some seem to need slightly more heat to flow
I squash for longer when using lower temps, but no longer than say 30-40 seconds. You can usually see it bubble and stop.

When squashing hash, apply pressure gradually to prevent blowouts of filters.

Update on my coconut oil....

Coconut is horrible to me, I manages to eat one of the treats I made...

It definitely has me at a baseline, I can feel it in me, sure 2 would have done the job, but I just can stomach it...

I really like the idea of the Cocount oil, it's a real superfood with so many benifits, that I want to find a way to get it in me...

Tried in tea - not nice
Tried in Nutella - still not nice

Any ideas on how I can mask the taste and injest this????

Start with small pieces of hash (0.25-0.5g) wrapped in either a fine mesh screen or a coffee filter.
Then fold a piece of parchment in half, put the package inside and squish
Coffee filters are apparently around 20 microns
You can squash the filter by itself again afterward to try to get the remains or put them in a glass of hot milk/chocolate or similar

What are these screens like?
How fine are they?
You may be better off using the coffee filters
I have a small roll of the SS mesh I used (left over from ecig genesis wicks), I'd be happy to send you a small piece if you would like to try it to save you ruining DDave's screens?

In all honesty, I think the coffee filters are easier as I don't have to scrub them first lol, and it's not like the SS mesh is reusable or anything so the coffee filters are cheaper too

So the coffee filter is like a cone, so will the hash go to the corner???

Then coffee filter goes inside parchment envelope???

i cut a small square/rectangle of coffee filter and fold it around the hash kinda like a present or something
just roll it around, then fold the ends over. not too tightly
you don't want a big a piece of filter paper as you dont want the excess soaking up all the rosin
you want the rosin to come through the filter paper, so no open ends.
take a piece of parchment, fold it in half, put the little parcel you made inside the parchment.
squash.
slowly at first so the filter paper doesn't burst

On the topic of the coconut oil... refined coconut oil is supposed to be tasteless and odourless.
It may not offer all the same heath benefits as virgin, but still has most of the beneficial fatty acids
