Discontinued A new kind of portable vaporizer? Pocket-Vapor VP600

I stumbled upon the Pocket-Vapor VP600 on ebay a few days ago. It's a portable Chinese made vaporizer. At first, there was only one seller selling it, but now there's a few. It's about $36 shipped, and runs on butane. It seems to be a cross between a box vape and a vapor genie in that a butane torch flame heats up a ceramic element under the herb, whose vapor is drawn through a whip.

What do you guys think? I have a vapor genie and so am in no hurry to buy anything new, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this.

It depends on what kind of plastics are used and where. If you read the I-inhale thread you'll see the high tech stuff they use-different types for inside and outside the unit. It stands to reason that the materials used on a vape you can buy for $35 are not comparable to those used in one selling for $250. The Inhale company also has many years of experience building gas powered tools containing plastics.

China is wonderful at mass producing goods for a cheap price. Maybe that's not a GOOD thing, but that's for another forum.

What China isn't known for is innovation. Vaporizers are largely a market where innovation is absolutely necessary. Finding the cheapest way to do something doesn't keep us healthy. I know that doesn't make the choice of a vaporizer any easier, but vaporization is all about health and comfort.

At $35 (http://cgi.ebay.com/POCKET-VAPOR-Po...Vaporizer_W0QQitemZ280280677997QQcmdZViewItem) I'm guessing the manufacturer isn't losing a whole lot of sleep over the quality/type of plastic used in this model. Wonder if there is any melamine in it as a bonus?
