For anybody who wants to go over this it contain some very valable info

I just quickly went over it and i by know means am the brightest bulb around

It seems to me to show that it only takes 2 days to reset your canabinod receptors to almost the same as non cannabis users .

The study talks about how although receptors rapidly come back to pretty much normal levels in just 2 days and this is with heavy and some even very heavy use . they still even after 28 days are not quite as abundant as non users .

This they talk about possibly being because of the way THC is stored in fat .
But then if you read further this they are not sure if is the reason why the cannabis users receptor dont quite come backbto levels of non users .

They gobas far as to say it could be that the cannabis users could have been a little short on receptors to beging with

This would in my view poit to possibly the heavy cannabis users might have been unkowly self medicating because they are in fact subsituting for a lack in there endocanabiniond system

Please somebody eles read through the link and let me know if im getting this right

Bit of a generalization no? Do you have a reference for this? I've cut my daily dabs from .5g/day in half, and it's been 10000000% easier than when i've done this with flower. I think it has to do with toxins in flower vapour.
0.25gm of "dab" still has more mg of THC than 0.5gm of flower. Most of the concentrates I see are in the 60-75% THC range. That means 0.25gm will have 150 to 180mg of THC. 0.5gm of 20% flower will have 100mg THC.

 All good bro, most people do!! Micro dosing dabs is awesome!

Yep. Not really a fan of “feeling high”. However, high THC strains work great for my insomnia. 2:1 CBD strains work great for my pain/spasms, due to nerve damage, throughout the day. I’ve only recently discovered dabs, but I love microdosing them to get my desired effects at just the right levels, especially for daytime needs. It’s an art to pull out the “perfect amount” of wax without getting too much.

I vape daily and go through 1g of wax a month.

You are the rare person who vapes as much as they once smoked. Most people find that they use about half as much and enjoy the clear high better.

New to vaping and find im using more material now then smoking.

Same here, I fucked combustion 3.5 years ago and my consumption has increased since. I think it's because the unwanted side effects of smoking were stopping me before being high enough. I definitely agree with the high being clearer and way better.

TLDR you're probably getting a bit more cannabinoids in your system now to make up for the fact that combustion gets you high on oxygen deprevation and kicks in quicker as well.

I agree with you on this, removing the side effects of combustion allows me to intake more cannabinoids without that "sick" feeling.

I been vaping every day for years. Not huge amounts and only in the evenings but I still have to be careful with overdoing it. With concentrates I only need 1-2 hits or with flower I can finish a .05 g sized bowl during a single session.

Last night I wasn't paying attention and took 3 hits off some shatter instead of 1 or 2. I went into a chest tightening panic attack and needed help from the wifey to talk myself off the cliff. I'm almost afraid to stop for a few days and have my tiny tolerance reset.

I just ordered some CBD isolate to add to my bowl in order to cut down the sometimes harsh effects of THC.

Finster, that's interesting, I think it happens to all of us once in a while. Cannabis expects us to pay attention!!! I'll bet it was all good after your wife came to assist you.

I believe we can turn those experiences into very valuable lessons. Once about a year ago, i had that happen with edibles and I was in the wrong circumstances. How I drove myself home, I'll never fully understand, except that the goddess Cannabis had my back.

I got home, got in bed and tripped myself to sleep. Once I was safe (as opposed to dripping cold sweat onto the floor of my office, to which I was stuck), it became amazing. I just don't usually get that high, ya know?

I have been using cannabis for many years but have yet to ever try an edible for that reason. I'm such a lightweight I could see myself tripping by accident for hours. At least over-vaping only lasts 40-60 minutes until it mellows out.

Lol

I have a dab rig but don't use it very often. It ends up being too much at one time. I'd rather vape some concentrate in some cotton through a log vape and take my time in small increments. I did get my CBD isolate and am currently experimenting with it. So far I believe that a little CBD on top of a little concentrate has helped mellow out the high.

I find tincture the perfect strong high: not too too strong, but much stronger than what I can vape comfortably. I take it early in the morning; the high lasts 2-2.5 hours, and whenever I get too high, I just go lie down and usually fall asleep. Wake up in no pain.

I find that even a short T-break seems to completely reset my tolerance, which I love. Also, different strains seem to reset it to a degree. I am a chronic user when I have the herb available to me (non-legal state) and when its easy to get I consume alot. I have a buddy who is a two hit per day kind of user and he is amazed at how much I vape. My buddy is also a smoker who only vapes when he tries mine. Maybe it's smoking vs vaping, I dont know, but I will never go back to combustion.

With smoking, the flame is so hot and degrading the THC, it's like a built in T break with every hit. But with vapor it's like we keep finding ways to get cleaner, and smoother, and tastier vapor that is more convenient to hit anywhere and it just makes it easy for tolerance to skyrocket.

I think this is very true, for me at least. Half the fun for me is choosing which device I feel like using at that particular time. The vapes that I use are all very good at what they do. So many possibilities, cannabis has never been this fun and enjoyable. :)

I would call you a medicinal user rather than a "chronic" one. :):):)

ok as a few know, I consume a fairly large amount of concentrate based edibles (home-made, not commercial crap) every day, and vape a fair amount as well.

last year during my 1st run with chemo, I rapidly dropped around 35lbs, and I think those fat cells were so saturated I didn't need to use it while I was down with the flu... but I dunno about 2 days, I've gone as long as a week without it making a huge difference resetting my ECS.

What exactly are you calling EXTREMELY HEAVY USE?

Remember 'hot-knifing'? I wonder how hot those got.

I've had a few T-breaks over the last year. a 20 day break, a 30 day break, and a 3 month break. as well as a bunch of 5 day breaks.

I found no difference between the 20 day break and the 3 month break. and I find that a simple 5 day break gives a good 75% of the effects that the longer breaks give.

so in my opinion, there's not a major need to go more than a week if you want to decrease your tolerance (I found that no matter the break, the tolerance starts building up after a week of daily use)

NOTE: I think its a good idea to try and prevent yourself from using large amounts in the first place, that way you don't get a snowballing effect from frequent AND high dosages. that's why log vapes are awesome, they really moderate your use for you :)

Just curious, but other than possibly not having a large enough supply, is there a reason low tolerance is better than high tolerance? Or another reason low tolerance is preferred?

Is there a difference between your first use in the day and a later one?

I suspect some find the same type of difference after a break. The high is different the first few times back, just like the high is different the first time you use in the day.

Thank you, @OldNewbie. It seems "obvious" that a low tolerance is preferred , but I was curious about reasons for the preference. It sounds as if there might be a drop off in quality of experience with higher tolerance. Makes sense to me, but I tend to have a bit of caution in me and didn't want to automatically think " of course less is more! And none is better!", because I get that way.

This is definitely true for me. The first one of the day is the best one of the day.

as you said, making what you have last is a big factor, especially when theres a drought.

But apart from that, I like having a low tolerance Is because I have witnessed other people just smoke and smoke (and also vape) just to get even a bit lifted. And if they wanna get 'gone'? well unless they wanna thrash the heck outta their lungs, then its just not gonna happen.

And I always thought to myself, that's not what I wanna be doing. I don't wanna have to shovel it down just to get the effects. Don't get me wrong, theres a certain social factor about having a high tolerance, bragging rights and things like that. As at one point, I purposely sought to get a higher tolerance so I could 'hang with the big boys' lol, and while it was great, it was just a bit much for me to maintain.

And when I do wanna get trashed, then a moderate dose is all I need and i'm done (i'm more of an 'in and out' person, I want the effects asap so I can get on with what I wanted to do. Of course, others like to integrate it into their social gathering, which is great as well)

such a versatile herb:)

Thank you for your comments, @purplegrass. Having a high tolerance would seem to take more time, as well as material. I, myself, find I start to find vaping tedious after a few hits. It's not awful, by any means. I just find myself wanting to do something else. Wanting a high tolerance for bragging rights, isn't something I thought about before. You do see it on the internet, don't you?
So far, low tolerance seems to have a great deal to recommend it. I wonder if there is an optimum schedule, such as 5 days use, then 3 off, or three weeks use, one off, etc. or if it's better to set a strict limit on amount used. I look forward to hearing what is said on the topic.
It's interesting to consider usage as relates to time.
That is, the topic is of interest, and everyone says such interesting things.

I've found a simple 1 on 1 off schedule to be very effective for preventing tolerance build. But the problem of course is that you start wanting to do it more and more often.

When I first started, I only did it on fri and sat nights. and I used to do maybe 0.2, but as I started doing it other days, I tried to moderate myself to 0.05 to 0.1 (which is easily done if you have a log vape).

its all down to how your willpower is, and whether you care about how much you use.

I also prefer the feeling of low doses, its more of an enhancement rather than a complete alteration to my perceptions. I mostly only use when i'm on hikes and doing other nature activities

Very interesting discussion about the first vape of the day, which is always extraordinary for me. If this is so, how can one claim to have built up tolerance? And I never think of it as "tolerance"; I think of it as ECS "maintainence."

My experience vaping every day: when I vape mindlessly, I don't get the best buzz. It's almost like I'm demanding something of Cannabis that I shouldn't. When I vape with mindfulness and intentionality, it's always better. When I vape with someone I really enjoy being with, it's a great high; if I vape with the wrong person, it's sour or boring. Context is important.
