@
Crohnie, I hope you're right.
But WA couldn't even pass a bill that labels the genetically-modified poison in their food.
Also some people in my neck of the woods have been finishing their buds with a soda pop flush,
which makes them smell and taste artificially flavored.
This sounds like morons who have heard half of an old story, w/ no clue how to apply. In the old days, certain skeezballs would spray the outside of dried flowers w/ pop (like 7up) to give that nice sparkly look.
Growing organically is typically more expensive, more time consuming and doesn't produce as high of yields. It takes more knowledge and more experience. These things do not go hand in hand w/ profit, mass scale production, highest possible yield, etc. The absolute simplest way to grow w/ huge yields is just to use miracle grow - well known to be irradiated.
I really have no idea why people are so surprised. Is this not exactly what you should expect when you hand over power to these guys? As far as demand creating policy, the demand, like everything else in this country, will be for the cheapest alternative. Walmart doesn't own the world because it makes such great products.
And when we start talking about how far over legislators bend for their constituents, I'm not seeing it. Which of our institutions are being run as most people would like? Schools? Medical? Prisons? Armed Forces? Energy? I guess I see something different than many others when I look around. Legislatures rely on and follow the advice of government agencies every day. But all that is just joining in pretending that the wslc has no real say. The wslc is in control of licensing, adopting rules, filing the cr103, implementing regulation and control as well as allowing regulators to reword the law as they see fit (distance from schools). When you sell your soul, you should know who to.
Of course they are trying to take grower rights away, this is business practices 101. This is why I have never supported any bill that does not contain exact language protecting grower rights. When our gov not only allows, but creates the environment necessary for sick people to suffer and die every day because they can't afford their meds, drs or procedures - how little do you think they care about you, the pot user?
edit: from a Tacoma paper: "The Liquor Control Board – which is charged with making I-502 work – has identified ways to eliminate dispensaries and return medical marijuana to what it was until a few years ago: a last-resort remedy for the relatively few severely ill people who can’t be treated effectively with conventional drugs. The board’s most important recommendation is that lawmakers tighten the issuing of the “green cards” that allow people to claim they are using marijuana for therapeutic reasons."
