Not necessary. That you would want to means a lot.

To address another post, we had some sponsors almost 10 years ago. Essentially just some cool stores that took care of customers and wanted to support the community. They got links to their store in our footer and the sponsor forum sections which were a useful way to interact with members and do fun things here and there. No sponsorships have been taken since then, but we left up the sponsor forums for historical purposes.
