    herbalAire Elite

I'm using a screen from a replacement crucible, so it's already the perfect size. It's not too hard to get out either, I just flip the crucible upside down and use the flat end of a pen to push out both screens and the material. Reload the original screen in the crucible and it's good for...

    herbalAire Elite

I've tested to .07g through a hydrotube, still good thick hits which can definitely be felt and will be really good for at least 2 full flavoured sessions, each with up to 4 draws. This would be very light vaping and another session could easily be done, though with less taste and potency. 1...

What was your first experience with vaping?

My friend bought a Volcano many years ago, so myself and a few friends tried it out and it was pretty cool, but I remember there not being a whole lot of visible vapour and I found it confusing to not have any visible feedback. My first personal time was with the Herbalaire 2.2 and I was pretty...

Presoaking helps me a great deal as well. I leave it in for roughly 30 seconds and get thicker hits more immediately this way, rather than the first draw being rather whispy. I usually wait a little while in between hits as well, to allow the HA to get back up to temp and for some more soaking...

    the highly sensitive person quiz

This is a work in progress for me, but there's a decent alternative community nearby where I live. A lot of the people there are weird and wonderful and are into alternative methods to health and healing. I look for people who are into the more natural side of life. There are often workshops...

    the highly sensitive person quiz

I scored 24. I've always been like this, although I've only really started acknowledging it in recent years. All the usual things, like eating healthy (my sensitivities to food make this so important) and exercise, being in nature, meditation. These things all help greatly. Sunlight and being in...

I doubt it as all I have to adjust is a dial. Were you wanting a 2.2 as a backup?

Yup, I borrowed a lot of tips from @421. That sounds like a handy method too, and no extra parts are needed either! I was just not sure if the HA Elite crucibles may have the screens built into them and may not be movable /removable like the HA 2.2 crucibles are.

I've got my coarsely ground .1g packed just tight enough to create an even spread over the bottom screen in the crucible in the shape of a little puck, with another screen wedged in on top to hold the material secure and against the hot air jets. This way, no material will shift about even if...

The TonG comes with its own screen. It isn't super fine, so a course grind will probably work best to keep particles out of your water tool. I get very big hits all the time off of .1g, I think I could even get good results with a little less when ground up. Are you getting the Elite? I agree...

I've been experimenting with ground versus unground. I like the idea of keeping the flowers whole and not knocking off trichomes, but I get thicker hits and bigger clouds with a grind. Also, whilst the HA does a fantastic job of extracting a whole nug, I've noticed that I can still get more out...

 I hear you, mate! My Herbalaire was running all day on Sunday. A Tame Impala gig on the Saturday accompanied with a little bit of a psychedelic journey left me very lazy on the Sunday. I only had a pretty heavy sativa though (Sour Diesel) so it kind of kept me tripping. I still can't get...

That's a handy tip. I used the Vapor Brothers ceramic screens that fit perfectly in the crucible as a guide to cut around with scissors. To hold it in position I put the screens upon a bed of AVB, although using one solid piece like a dowel would have been much easier! I'll email HA about...

I've finally got my Herbalaire set up in a way that's easy and consistent. Whilst it was good out of the box, I've found that it was important to have the herb held firm and close to the heat jets with an even spread. After checking out some of the great solutions in this thread, I've cut my...

This is great information, thank you! I jammed the flower down in the crucible with a ceramic screen on top and it worked great! I only need a smallish amount, ~0.1g to make a nice little hockey puck as I've seen recommended by 421 and others in this thread. I let the Herbalaire heat up for...

 I like it! I'm all for simplicity too. I find the air straight from the mouthpiece too hot for me so I use a water tool. I lose a little bit of flavour and vapor but it saves me from the scratchy throat feeling that I sometimes get. Do you ever worry about the ground up herb clogging up...

Thanks for the advice 421! I'll have a look at some sidecar pieces too. Have you been trying any new tricks with your Herbalaire? I've taken a lot of the advice you've contributed on this thread, many thanks!

You're welcome! How does the D020-D go with the HA? I've got the TonG and water tool working a treat, but I think that a bubbler would make it that little bit more comfortable.

long or short air path, which do you prefer?

I'm not too fussed, I'm more focused on getting it at a temperature that feels comfortable. A little bit of lost vapor is okay. I'm using a pretty standard water tool attached to my TonG for my Herbalaire but am thinking of upgrading to a bubbler for even more cooling. So I guess a little bit...
