Not too sure where i heard/read it but that drinking a good amount of water before your sesh and hydrating during can help in terms of redness. For me, this used to work decently.. I just dont get red eyes anymore, not sure why but i cant complain.

I would just say draw slow and steady- you will feel the heat if done right (no stem). draw for about 10 seconds and then pull the battery out. Some people get the hang of it pretty quick, others take a good amount of coaching.. The novice doesn't normally bother me if they are doing it wrong...
