I was kind of waiting too. The thought of glass hitting stainless steel on two sides was making me think about waiting. That's some pretty tough impact if it has to be done over and over. I think @Sleepin in CA should change the title of his videos to Okeanos User Manual instead of User Error...
Make sure you keep your contacts clean. I have nailed a Persei top and seen a few people on here who have done the same. It's either screwing it on too hard or dirty contact. Be mindful when you unscrew your Herc, or any cart for that matter, from your Persei. The connector will follow your cart...
I don't have the 74 but in the 71 when that happens if you turn the screw on the bottom of your Herc about a half turn counter clockwise it makes better connection. That is IF the 74 has that prob still. You said core. What voltage are you running at? Try 7.4 and leave it there to test. Good...
I filed a ticket on Monday AND a ticket on Thursday for two tops and I think my core did it. I haven't heard back from anyone but I have read your post and others and mine does the same shit. Or did anyways. I don't use it. Don't know what to do anymore. Two Persei's down again. My core sounded...
The Core has dead spots at certain voltage spans that the Iris will fire at. I think my core won't fire anywhere between 5 and 6 volts and below 4 or something like that. I think it has to do with the circuit protection in the Persei tops.
My core makes me nervous. It seems like it buzzes...
No, of course we don't need to. I would rather dump a gram in my Herc and run. But for us old schoolers, that hammer and well set up brings back some good memories. Rockin' that shit before anyone had even thought about thinkin' about portable vapes as they are today. I will say this, my wells...
If have read people here and even in the W9 site saying to use nails or small cups. That's not how I use a hammer and well. You need a well, or a pit. I have heard them called both where I'm from. I have a couple and they both hold about 2 to 3 grams each. They are vented at the top of the well...
All I know is since following FC and reading this thread and @ataxian's comments, I will never be able to say or even think of shatter without saying like an old Batman episode
BAM!!!!
BOOM!!!!
BLAM!!!!
SHATTER!!!!
Blahhh isn't a good way to get the right people to help you. Everyone here already knows the nuances of the hardware you have so read on and learn and be patient...
I think that everyone's tops do the intermittent flash or dry fire once in a while. I think the core might just add to that a little bit. THC mentioned mech tops for the core, so I'm pretty sure he knows the gig and is working on it. To me, its a small inconvenience to pay for the end result. I...
What voltage and rod are you using? My top blinks a lot too. But I run my 7.4 rod at 6.5. I think it's just the low battery protection in the top doing its job thinking you have low batts when you are just using a lower voltage. I used both of my tops and it does the same thing so my thought is...
Did it heat up at all before you took it out? If it did, then the bad performance is prob due to the rod being dirty.
That's another good reason to push from the bottom instead of pulling the rod out of the cart. Doing so will eventually wear out the bottom collar if you use anything more than...
Heat it up a little and push it up from the bottom. If you pull it out through the bottom, all the black shit in the rod will scrape off in to the bottom of the cart and you will have a burnt taste right after you torch your ceramic. If you have it all apart, might as well give it a clean up...
There are two wires the need to be soldered on the bottom of that threaded part that came off with your cart.
Prob need to file a ticket and send it in for replacement if it's under warranty.
Sorry for the bad luck...
+1
I posted a while back that my black rod was not working. Just the slight misty hits. After cleaning up the Hercules one day and being jealous at others success with the black rod, I followed Mud's procedures and BAM! Clouds. So in a delighted frenzy I kept going and the 650 that came with...
