I've experimented with fc2000 and 500 diagnal cut SS mesh. I like the ceramic wicks better. I hot wrap them with a torch to get it tight. That's the biggest difference is they are a little harder to build then SS mesh but not by far because you have to torch the mesh or it'll throw your ohm...

Yeah that single wick is equal or better then those double wicks. Its a bit longer but the length of the rod and the coil on the rod seem to make no reclaim
