On the bright side that contact is coated (usually in Vaseline) and should hold up longer before it needs cleaning.
I think this is the most recent post from Dan on the subject, and to him cleaning the button contact is a last resort which shouldn’t need to be done often...
Those ports were always just power, the lighter part (which I don’t think even comes with most cars these days) just plugs into them to use that power. :)
If you add some air intake holes to one of those lighters and stick it up against a stem or pipe though, you might actually have a decent...
I’m usually okay reusing flower in a conduction/session vaporizer once or maybe twice at most. Reheating over and over will really degrade your flower.
You can use it up fast with a TimyMight too, but if you take low temp sips and slowly turn it up each time you use it you should get better...
It did that to the first VTC6 I put into it, and my Molicels were really tight at first but I avoided tearing on those. On the bright side it loosened up fairly quickly and everything fits fine and nothing’s getting damaged anymore.
I’m not positive that those tears are okay under all...
Is this new flower? It sounds to me like you might be extracting most of it at lower settings and only getting the cannabinoids that vaporize at high temps when you really crank it up. Or maybe the extra heat gets parts of the ground flower that aren’t facing the heater.
If it’s still working...
If you ordered it today, talk to them in the morning. They should be able to add it to your order if it hasn’t shipped yet. You could also order it now and just ask them to combine the orders. :)
@Dan Morrison Since @CL52613 can’t provide pictures, if you have any pics of that one and/or others that have gone out recently I think everyone here would like to see them! :)
I think that’s the first report I’ve seen of that problem. They recently moved manufacturing to a new company so there still seem to be some new issues popping up, but hopefully they’re all uncommon and they should be addressed once people report them. I’m sure they’ll take care of you. :)
Super lucky! Especially with the real button in there it would be one of my favorite Nomad IIs!
If Dan doesn’t post pics of it with the real button, please make sure you do! …and feel free to post more even if he does.
@Siebter Like I said I don’t think the problems are nearly as bad as he makes them sound, but most or all of those are (or were) legitimate issues. I’ll go through them all briefly I guess.
1. That is a harsh description and most people don’t have problems with it, but the metal is soft and...
I think plenty of people would like things like #3. I gravitate toward more complex stuff as you know…but who knows, maybe I’ll go for a minimalist Toad if I see the right one!
It would have been hard for me to choose that one over some of the others, but it’s actually pretty cool. :)
I’m no big defender of TinyMight and the Reddit post above does contain some legitimate criticisms that I still agree with, but some have been fixed or improved (the button for example) and the person who wrote it has been maybe TM’s harshest critic I’ve seen on FC too.
I think it’s good info...
I don’t have rubies, but if I’m going to heat something up and inhale through or around it I clean it first.
Burn-offs can help with some things, but to me they’re a test to see how well I managed to clean something and if the device itself has built-in parts that off-gas when heated. I don’t...
I’ve never smoked, but I think I get the most “stony” effects from mixing vapor and edibles together.
I also think that a longer, slower session with a convection vaporizer works better for getting me there, but that could also be because it’s easier to find the right spot without overshooting...
I haven’t tried it yet, but at least one person posted in the Firewood thread about using their Firewood 7 with mid-grade (not full melt) bubble hash with good results.
I haven’t had a lot of bubble hash, but I’ve mostly put a little on top of flower when I’ve used it and you can do that with...
I don’t know, but the way the stem connects is a solution we helped him find here in this thread after it was released. It works pretty well but it’s not ideal, so I hope that’s changed at least.
That’s really up to you. You already have a session conduction option, but if the Solo seems more like what you want it may be worth a try. It’s probably worth keeping one if you like them.
I prefer convection heaters (like the TM) overall, but conduction can bring a bit more of a heavy...
I’m not aware of any firmware issues with the FW7 right now, but if there is one and you have a link to information on it, please post it in the Firewood thread. If not, I doubt that there would be a new firmware issue when it’s already been out over a year so I wouldn’t worry about buying one...
