Can you dig into a couple things for me? I'm curious about the "gas vs vapor" verbiage. I am also curious about what happens with the airflow after the balls and how the bottom portion is heated when it isn't wrapped in coil

I agree. Angled torches are needed. The pb207 will sputter out when using the lotus cuz the fuel wick dries out when you flip it.

I agree with the general consensus so far. Dynavap or vapman will be your best bet for now. The vapman is the most delicious vape I have used. Well somehow your wood got slightly charred. I've done up to a ten second preheat without charring the wood. You've gotta be real careful with your flame angle with these or you may damage your wood. Olive seems a little more susceptible to heat than other types but idk.

Have you tried preheating the plate for about 7 seconds before hitting it? That's what I did when I used to have a lotus. And your plates are going to discolor. That's what happens when you heat thin metal. The Dynavap cap is no different.
