So I was thinking about picking up in iolite at my headshop for $180 sometime this week. What's going to be the differences between it (a potentially older model) and the newer ones? Any deal breakers?

That's how people tend to react with my PD - They like it but aren't blown away. I think that once you live with it, you realize how fantastic the piece is. It just does the job. And for that it is my favorite - no temps, no heatup time, perfect hits everytime. It absolutely blows me away...

You can always turn it upside down and get a finer grind. That's what I do and it tends to be a good grind.
