It's funny how everybody has a slight different approach with this manual vapes. I find that the little aomai torches sold on fasttech and also used by vapcapers work really well allowing a really small flame which heats somewhere in between a soft flame and an average torch. I think one thing...

If I understood well he does that for preheating. There is not reason to combust if he doesn't draw. But unless there is a huge leap in evenness that avoids stirring I see no reason adding a procedure as if I fell on love again with this vape using the torch it's for quick strong hits in 5-10...

In my experience not only the light doesn't touch the ceramic but also the blue part stays above the ss intake. I use an angle and little circles like @Obsessed 2 with very good results in less than 10 sec. One must have in mind that VG doesn't recommend torches because you can combust pretty...

HERBIE 510 Stainless Steel Mesh Vaporizer

Sounds nice ! Will need some testing and adjustment I guess. Pleasantly surprised by the amount of the load! I was expecting more with a 17x12 chamber. Even if you say it's dry and fluffy. It would be to nice to see how dark and even you can vape, let's say, half a load.

Ok mine has a really small space uncovered less than your black one. (sorry for the lousy pic my vg is less of a mess in real life)

@Obsessed 2 On my walnut handcarved unit the only wood in the air path is below the screen. So either they're different either I don't get what you mean for the woody taste and sleeve. I think I get some woody taste but from after the load and screen. @nonamekevin I was combusting often with it...

Thanks to this thread being alive and specifically you're post I picked the VG from the "shoebox" in my signature to put it in the "regular back up section". It's my first vape from back to 2009-10 when I made my first unsuccessfull attempt to quit combustion. Now that I FC, have more...

Why go with a conduction device?

For me it's just both : it produces vapor just with the heating but also produces some with the heated air hitting the plant. Of course there is hot air providing convection with this design, it's just that hitting directly the steel that touch the plant with a torch does a lot of conduction to...

HERBIE 510 Stainless Steel Mesh Vaporizer

Sounds like a good idea. If you even offer this as an adaptability option (seems as the whole design coming straight from ecig logic as mtl vs dl inserts or different capacity tanks , are you guys ecig users ? ), and it works well off course, it can be the detail that makes the product...

It depends on what someone calls micro dose. I am talking about like 0.05-00.8 range. It's not a coincidence if the devices known for micro dosing have the narrower screens/bowls : firewood, IMP, Vapcap... Here we're talking about a screen wider than splinter's and 18mm stems in general. You...

HERBIE 510 Stainless Steel Mesh Vaporizer

Yes but 17x12 could be more than that. I was talking about the minimal quantity to make it work properly. You can't micro dose with a huge bawl except if they're some high endend vapes that do that I haven't heard off. They're going to be answers with beta testing but my wild guess is that...

HERBIE 510 Stainless Steel Mesh Vaporizer

I only talk from my personal taste and experience as I am not so rich and don't find always easily good flower where I live so I like to make it last. For those who have more flower available it's less of a problem. From my experience you need indeed at least 2/3 fulness of a chamber to be...

What are the dimensions of the chamber ? In another vape I have a 14x8 mm chamber and it needs 0.15-0.2 g to work optimally. From the pics it looks bigger than this. With more than 0.2 we get in macro dosing territory which is not my territory.

    Firewood Vaporizer

I fine sanded it, first put some tung oil with a q-tip and made a walnut oil Bees wax and carnauba butter. I light sand it "wet" with the butter if needed but it stays like new with a bit of finger rubbing when it feels more "dry" . I could avoid the tung oil part but that primed it well.

Is there already a herbie? Because otherwise I think it's unfair the herbalizer takes all the the names with herb. Otherwise the first using it could block all the names with vape in it.

Yes, actually it looks a tiny bit longer to me. Like if when retracted it's like the fw5, mouthpiece included.

Another argument for also having a 25 mm version except mod aesthetical compatibility and stealthiness is micro dosing. As If it's proportional the chamber would be smaller. And micro dosing has a lot of fans.
