When I do choose glass with the MV it's with an AEON Glass bubbler with the 18mm Dewar joint. Not a high volume bubbler. Perfect for the MV.

It is true that the most recent cores, Teflon or glass, are reliable and not prone to failure. It was the older (pre 2015) Teflon cores, which were the two that failed on me, that had known issues. Bottom line is if it's not heating consistently, it should be checked out.

This is the sign that the core is failed/failing. I had two units that did the same thing.....intermittent heating. It makes you think it's an error on your end when in fact it's not. It needs servicing.
