That cap sensor is finnicky for me too. I just turn off the cap sensor and pulse to pre-melt. If you want to keep using it, I find it seems to register much better in a specific cap orientation.

This is the answer. I love my Cricket, but I would never recommend it as a first device. The Puffco Pivot is perfect with its smaller bowl, MUCH easier cleanup, and dead simple operation.

Those rings are a special high temp compound. Remember these orings must be able to take whatever heat setting the coil is set to, including a long duration heat soak. A normal black buna-n oring won't cut it. And trying to source high temp orings in small amounts from a manufacturer is $$$$.

Thumbs up for the Micro Hybrid Bowl! It rocks! I lowered my temps as it seems to be more efficient at extraction. Little bit harder to load with the smaller opening, but I just need to find the right scoop. This should be the default for set, with an optional full bowl!
