Its a way to use a Simrell MVS stem as an extended cooling mouthpiece. Extra cooling & longer length for fat fingered fuks like me. You can add air after the combustion stroke via the MVS port. Makes native hits much more manageable. Works great thru water with the built in WPA on the MVS...

Mmmmm....... I use my XL stems without the basket screen caps. 62%ish RH Herb stays in there just fine especially with a very light tamp. You can turn the heat down without the screen cap. Even Better flavour.....MMmmmm
