yes it is normal for the screen to be a little bit bent, and it doesnt show much in the pics... also.. i think the screens are meant to be cleaned occasionally... (especially the fine one)... soaking the whole stem would work i suppose, but i think it is easier to clean when removed... to...

mine used to get abv from sucking too fast too... for example at the end of the draw, to cool the cap off on the alum stem.. the high speed air seems to create some turbulence in the bowl :lol:

great idea!! :) i tried this(photo)... with fingers to make it a dome and insert in metal ring symmetrically and then toothpick to push further inside each side slowly until it dropped to the wood it doesent seem to be going anywhere :)

the black one i have, used to smell like paint, especially when heated, for quite some time... i have noticed no smell from the wooden-color one, though

why would you rather suck slower? personally i do it for the plate's sake... after i saw 3-4minor cracks :p (old style plate) i mean, i get that it is not necessary, but wouldn't it be an optimization of technique to heat more and suck faster?
