I don't know I completely understand what you are asking. Other than the very end of the VapCap, where the cap is and the heat is applied, the unit doesn't get hot. The glass the original is constructed from is essentially an insulator compared to metal and the heat even after many cycles...

The Ti Glassy is essentially a Ti Woody with glass in place of the wood. It has the same Ti tip and a ss condenser.....but, since it uses the modular design I am trying to perfect, swapping the condenser for a clean one, and or glass or a Ti tube will take only a few seconds. I hope to start...

The cap is Stainless steel. It polishes very well with a buffing wheel and some polishing compound. A dremel with polish works too. The caps look awesome after a good polish, and it will last a while if kept a bit further from the flame. George
