The PonG, screen must have conducted too much heat off the bullet and caused the plastic to finally give out around it (it's had 2 fair sized cracks for weeks(I'm poorer than dirt))

It's just the filter, not the mask haha The mask is designed to pull the air through this into your lungs, then out a check valve into the open air from your lungs, so if you just blow vapor or even smoke through it- it's instantly scrubbed of any particles

I've been using a gas mask filter for this- $5 at Joes Army-Navy Surplus

Well.. PonG finally gave out- no way for me to get a new one- no good way for me to make one- so I'm swapping for a new DBV. And now for a week of no vape.. this should be.. interesting? :puke:

Sick! Might have to get set up on the standard kit somehow.. One day.. Though what I had in mind was more along the lines of cutting a 10 degree sliver off the bottom, or getting a custom heater cover that's slightly taller at the bend, and angled down a smidge- probably cutting out that top...

So I'm probably swapping my PnP with my buddy for a DBV, as I'm a huge fan of the SSV.. But does anyone know if anybody's modded their DBV to basically be an SSV? It seems to me it would take minimal work with either of the 2 methods I've thought of. Just random thoughts haha

Lots. I have done the same thing for sure.. new vaporists need to keep in mind the heat up time for the bowl/bullet/chamber and the fact that you're pulling the heat actively away from the heat source, and it may not necessarily be able to keep up if you're chiefin it like a regular bong rip-...

Got an old soldering iron? Heatgun? I once tore apart a heatgun and cobbled together a volcano type thing- it had little flexible sheets of micah that were FABULOUS insulators, I've got a buttload of em right here That thing on the left is a cannibalized radioshack soldering iron heat...

This^ I can revape my brownish abv i get from setting 3 with fresh herb on heat setting 3 again after a mix or regrind for about 10 minutes, abv or fresh, I guess if you're going for speed.. but IMHO you're wasting a lot haha ps- let me know if that makes any sense

You use setting 5 for herb!?:uhh: Different strokes and all... but I never go above 4, and that's only on 2/3 bars of battery, or when I'm passing it to 2 or 3 people- though I can't say I know how you use it :shrug: just my interpretation :cheers:

I pop my screen out and soak it in a bottlecap of isopropyl 91% for like 10 minutes, then i just rub it with my fingers under water until all the gunk comes out It should retain enough of its form to fit back in there too, you could even flare the sides out a bit if you want a tighter fit ...if...

The wood is actually flush with the plastic, I just tried to make it so the wood would absorb the heat from the bullet/screen before it gets a chance to get to the plastic, not to mention I've never had issues with melting or fumes :tup: ...But really I'm just keeping the PonG intact so i can...

My current wooden solution I pretty much just made a stem that squeezes all the way through, but flared the wood out a smidge at the bottom to seal it up, and it seals pretty well at the top too- slap the screen back in and bam. EZ-mode IMO, all my other pieces have either not satisfied me, or...

Yeah the ring's stainless, it came from one of my older disposable clearomizers(tank) for my e-cig. As for the retaining pin idea, I'll probably give that a try on the next one as I can't do anything but widen the ring
