@ OTA - nope your BM is on the rare high-end side of the spectrum, I'll try and remember to post a few different pieces for comparison one of these days.. like many woods there really is quite a difference in samples from the same species.
Speaking of woods and species I'm surprised no one has...
@ OTA - great minds think alike dude. ;-) Your BM piece is a real special piece of wood, the sapwood on it is really feathered into the heartwood so there's lots of streaking other neat effects. A lot of times the sapwood/heartwood border is a more defined edge instead of that streaking.
@...
The sapwood is the outer most layers of wood with the heartwood being nearer to the center of the tree, there can be variations but that's basically the norm. More info than you ever wanted to know on the wiki page for wood: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood#Heartwood_and_sapwood
Most sawyers...
Glad you guys are liking the pieces so far..
@ OTA - yeah the Blue Mahoe in lineup C is a single piece of wood, it's heartwood/sapwood which is why it's light/dark.
@ upperlevel - Do you mean the yellow one on the rack? If so I'd be happy to price and finish it for you. It's Osage Orange if IIRC btw.
Alright Dogs the website is slowly coming back into being as we slowly get things dialed in and start importing products, we're getting closer so keep...
Uh oh Peloton you've figured out my secret.. now I'll have to use my Men In Black mind-eraser thing on you.
Oh wait I've got a better idea I'll just post some pics of the 25 pieces I have for the refresh and distract you that way bwhahahaha.
Now to find the camera...
Figured you guys might like the Pups on display in the shop, kind of neat to see them all sitting there together.
@ djonk - that one is a Banksia Pod
@ BlazedRunner - I don't know anything about the Solo but as far as the UD is concerned there isn't any appreciable drop in temp between or during hits. There's enough energy going into the UD core that supply isn't a problem and enough stainless steel to retain the heat during use.
Hey UDs...

Hey guys we've been working on the refresh (and running behind schedule of course) and have the site down for some maintenance as well. Figured I'd just let you all know so you guys don't worry or have Dog withdrawal or anything. :brow:
Not sure how long the site will be down for since we...
Thanks guys glad you like all the new pieces.. the last one on the right that a few of you like is a cool darker than normal Ambrosia Maple that I've been playing with. Purdy eh? Also have lots of other nice stuff that I'll be getting into here shortly.. :o
@ stickstones - thanks dude, lol @...
Looks like you guys are fond of the Blue Mahoe as usual. Too bad not all of it has the contrasting heartwood/sapwood.. the majority of it only has the darker wood. That specific piece was a custom one that cracked and has been reborn as a Lost Dog.
The dark red goblet piece (if you mean that...
Excellent AA.. that gives me plenty of time bwhahaha.
Here let me start with a couple of teaser lineups of some of the pieces I'm finishing for this refresh...
Hey Dogs and Future-Dogs-in-Lurking how's this fine Sunday treating you all? A pretty nice and laid back day around here today which is just how we like it on the weekends.
I was planning on pushing a website refresh through tonight but decided to hold off a few days so I can finish up a few...
Plenty of positive UD thoughts headed your way Rick & Pat.
I hope the charges get dropped (or not filed if they haven't been already) and that they don't pursue your property.
If there's anything we can do to help just let us know.
Yeah Bill like AA said you need to put the herb on the other side of the screen, the 'short' side closest to the core. If you turn the Dog upside down like AA said you shouldn't have any problems with spillage but even if you do get a little debris in the core it's easy to just blow out or tip...
UD VVPS cords won't work with the tattoo type power supplies that Rick has been selling since the UD cords have banana plugs and the Zap PS requires a 1/4" mono plug. I don't stock mono plugs so I'm unable to swap ends as well unfortunately.
@ SM - No worries dude I don't mind you bamming the pic up a notch, I didn't have time to do anything to it other than some slight levels adjustments, yours definitely looks nicer. The camera is my trusty and battered old Canon 40D (with a Canon 10-22 lens). What are you using these days?
