The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I find if I don't clean the balls, at least periodically, they do pick up a taste that is unpleasant. I probably soak the head in alcohol every week or two and burn the balls clean with a torch every month or two. I average two or three half bowls a day with the Tempest. I'm sure this strain...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I do the same, but with a serving spoon I never use so I dump the whole head worth and I don't have to worry about losing any balls. I don't remember who first recommended it, but it works very well. The best way for me to get them back in the head is to pour them into my hand and move the...

We haven't actually seen the leather case yet, but this is where those of us who have been here for a while will highly recommend the Reload. The Reload is a companion piece to the Tempest which, though not essential, is a very wise investment to include in your purchase. It makes handling the...

The Tempest by Mad Heaters & Phatpiggie

I'm thinking that for the most part, the people who have gotten updated parts were either early testers or people who specifically asked for resolution to a problem they were having. Either way, I don't expect it'll be long before we can all get the updates and new toys if we desire them.

    Glass 101

Right. I try to use it three or four times (at least) before I toss it but once it gets significant color to it, it tends to make the parts a little too sticky to just hot water rinse off.

    Glass 101

Probably not the right thread to ask, but since we're talking about alcohol, I wondered if anyone knows whether it is worse for the environment to pour used isopropyl down the drain, or to let it evaporate into the air in a pan outside?

The complete corruption of the current Supreme Court is obvious to anyone who is willing to look. And in truth, there's very little that can be done to fix it. Especially considering how shameless they are about it.

Most oven cleaners are pretty poisonous, and if you're going to use them, you have to be really careful about cleaning your glass carefully and completely afterwards. I personally wouldn't use it. I use PBW or ISO to clean glass pretty exclusively. And you should carefully rinse out your glass...

Here is a nice summary for those who can't or won't read about the 2025 project. No matter how much Donald Trump may claim that this is not his plan, it is the plan that the people supporting him intend to put into effect. The most important thing missing in this summary document, and one of...

No. The Tempest head is too large to fit in Pipes receivers on either my PSM or my JarHead. I still use these devices for my Vapcaps (and Revolves), but for my Tempest, I only have the Wand. I don't have a Cauldron, but I'm pretty sure the receiver is the same size as the other Pipes devices.

And just to be clear, I like Bernie. I have always liked Bernie. And more importantly, I admire Bernie for being willing to take stands that he knew were likely to prevent him from ever being in the White House. If it comes right down to it, I am probably closer to a "democratic socialist"...

You are, of course, entitled to believe whatever you like. I don't believe for a second that Bernie would have accomplished what Biden has accomplished over the last four years. It's all moot now but that is what I believe. And I think making her vice presidential choice someone who has claimed...

Yeah, replacing Biden with another 82 year old is a great idea. I happen to be a big fan of Kamala, and if Biden should have to be replaced, I can't imagine trying to replace him with anyone but her. Every Democrat who has voted for Biden has also voted for Kamala. Everybody who has donated to...

Changing the balls is not a really big deal, but it is certainly not something I want to do all the time. I currently take them out to clean them periodically because using a torch seems to be the most effective cleaning method to get the best clean, but I usually soak the head in ISO to clean...
