Heya DcTokeMan that's always the 'million dollar question' it seems and is really hard to make any kind of real prediction but in the real world I'd like to see them go 2 years before needing a 'vet visit'.
I think the history of these resistors being used as heating elements in Log vapes shows...
Any of the thicker Twigs (like the two Ash ones) are probably just as durable as anything else I would think so no particular worries there in my mind.
Always happy to assist either before or after a sale of course. Other than the WPB-GonG stock issue I mentioned above there isn't anything...
Hey DBVnOOb if you order a piece that's in stock on the website I can ship it tomorrow. Our normal shipments are Priority Mail which usually arrives on the East Coast in 3 business days so it would PROBABLY make Florida on Wednesday but no guarantee. Priority shipping is "free" if you use the...
I would have go to the shop and make the piece since I don't already have one done from Walnut.. what shape are you thinking about? Like a standard PD size and shape? I could make it today and get it ready for the refresh (new pieces added to the website) for this week and you could then buy it...
@ Stephen - awesome glad the Pup arrived in time for the weekend! Hope you enjoy it and look forward to your update.
Alright everyone I'm slowly slogging my way through the inbox and I think I'm slowly getting most of the messages and email answered. That being said if you send me a message...
Correct, the PD core is not sealed, the entire bottom is open to the wooden chamber. The design also results in faster and more severe charring because of the significant direct contact of the metal sides of the core-sleeve to the wood. As you noted there is also no center tube screen to help...
@ VapeVoice - nice looking Ash Pup you've got there dude, happy you've given it a nice home.
@ OTA - yeah the UD was less than happy in that picture, I think he was upset that I stuck him up there on top of that wood pile when he really wanted to go inside and take a nap by the fire lol.
@...
A variable power supply would be the best way of running a Dog at a lower voltage and is really a pretty worthwhile investment for only $30-$40 for a decent one. Alternatively you could use an LED dimmer ($10+) with the stock UD power supply to lower the temp for sessions though it seems like...

Hmmm good question, how to decide which UD is best for any given person. Typically a standard Log sized Dog will be more durable and last longer, and will also run a bit cooler though still hotter than the PD you are used to. These higher temps can translate to a reduced lifespan but if you were...
@ Chrohnie - thanks dude, glad you like the Jotaba piece
@ OTA - lol you can call it Cebil or whatever you like man I'll try to keep it all straightened out in my head lol.. not sure what issue you had with the pics, probably just a momentary issue I would appear.
Thanks man really glad...
@ AA - These are actually all old Pups, mostly Gen 1 stuff (current Dogs are Gen 3) that aren't made for 24/7 operation, some are the smaller 1/4" based core and some are the larger 3/8" core. The one laying down is a skinner Gen 1 Twig made of Black Walnut. It was probably one of the first 10...
@ OTA - lol I'll see what I can do dude..
@ HES - I know right? I think it will look very similar to Lacewood when finished, maybe we'll find out next week. :brow:
Finished up in the shop for the evening, it's been very busy around here lately so late nights are a must even on the...
@ mvapes - I think placetime nailed it, for whatever the reason your line voltage is probably a bit higher than usual.
I've been looking at and testing a few different regulated (switchmode) power supplies again and we might try changing back one of these days soon(ish) but are still a bit gun...
@ BF - The cotton is remarkably resistant to scorching and doesn't really seem affected at all, at least in my limited experience.
@ Skuma - Thanks for the order man, excited to introduce you to the world of vaping with the UD. I'll include the AC adapter for you no problem and is should all...
No chance of the heating element moving up Pluot, it's on the end of solid copper wires so it can't stretch out or anything, about all it can do is move side to side a bit.
If the silicone moves on the glass that's usually an indication that the silicone piece is a bit too short and doesn't...
I have more pieces coming, the next refresh is about a week and a half away..
Hey Matt, I messaged you back once I got some Bubinga in but never heard back.. maybe our messages got lost in the abyss or something. Anyways I do have some Bub now and would be happy to make you a piece...
Hey aKa - this thread moves so fast sometimes I think I missed (or forgot to respond) to your post.. doh! Anyways I'm working on that piece of yours today and will post a pic once I'm to a good stopping point. :p
Thanks for the heads up Highocaine, no promises but we'll look into that and see...
