@ataxian Is that pink unit one of the options we were offered in the Indiegogo campaign (I don't remember pink), or did you paint that EVO or what the hell is that? :sherlock:

Are you sure the build-up is in the center heat chamber, and not either below or above that? You can clean the bamboo above and below the chamber with a q-tip and iso. Or it might burn off. Filling the bamboo entirely with a liquid was discussed here IIRC two or three weeks ago. It's risky...
I don't use concentrates, but isn't the recommended temp setting much lower than that? You might want to double-check. You don't want to overfill or overheat the concentrate or you may end up with a mess in the bamboo.

Yes, VXL markets to the medical user community. And baby boomers yes, for two reasons: Greater disposable income, and longer experience with cannabis and vaping. But boomers are 50+ years old, and a great many EVO users are not that old. The EVO marketing tag line is "the connoisseur's...
Note the white flecks and the white/tan material to the right of the heater. That's the insulation jacket that encases the heater and bamboo. IME it's impossible to get inside that jacket without destroying it. Note too how different the bamboo is than the one posted above.
Right; thanks, I...
I don't think that is the current bamboo version. The bamboo is by far the EVO's most vulnerable point. Next are the main electrical components, the heater and temperature controller.
Be very careful about 3rd-party repair and mod info. The EVO has undergone several engineering iterations...
You have a couple options to get all the info you have been asking for. You can pick up suggestions/observation piece meal as you've done here so far, you can read through this tread, which is a very good idea anyway as there as many subtleties you won't pick up otherwise, or as I suggested...
You don't have to wait. As @Stu indicated, you can hit the EVO as soon as it goes green. The vapor production you get will of course be dependent on the temp setting you're at, i.e., if it goes green set at 3, it will have taken a little longer to go to green than if set at say 12, but it will...
You'll probably get a response here from Canadian owners, but it is the week-end and that usually means lighter traffic. If you don't, you can use the Search in this thread. Not to alrarm you, but IIRC some buyers have reported their having somewhat of a hassle with FedEx (but still probably...
I know you've had a few annoyances ramping up with your EVO, and you were understandably concerned about how it would perform vis-a-vis your EQ. So it's really great to hear that you are now enjoying the full EVO experience: The process, the resulting product, and the consequences...
An important detail that I omitted from my post above: Given that the diameter of the bamboo chamber orifices is not perfectly exact but falls within a narrow range, the airflow point at which the whistle occurs will vary slightly between units. If that diameter is at the top of the range...
Seibo told me that generally speaking the optimum airflow occurs just at the point of the whistle. Doesn't mean that the user cannot get just as happy results below or above that point, it's a matter of preference. It makes sense that there would be a correlation between airflow and temp...
Correct. My ABV - all strains - is consistently browned. How dark it gets varies with the setting. I have one strain that just keeps giving and so I turn the dial up to 3 which gives me one last solid hit and then a whispy hit; that ABV is a darker brown. If I leave the dial at my usual...
No, you probably don't have EVO trouble. The temp is just getting close enough to your setting to just momentarily reach green, then it needs a little more time to sustain the temp. Only become concerned if it is not fully heating and still goes green. And btw, very infrequently my unit will...
Yes, if any of the electronics then very likely the smell you would be quite noticeable. You may have a nose like my wife's; I'm amazed at what she can smell that I do not (and my nose is one of the few good working parts I've got left).
My suspicion is that you still have some burned on...
