Great post! Got me to thinking about the whole VXL journey that started 8+ years ago. For those who've been around since (or near) the beginning there are a lot of memories (some bad, mostly good) to be had from skimming over the pre-release Cloud thread, the post-release Cloud thread (which...
IMHO the Ion is hands-down one of the best pieces with the EVO. I use the t-gong adapter that VXL once offered and invert the EVO. The size of the can is perfect, big thick hits. And the action! - there is just no better perc out there than the matrix.
Definitely! Mine is still pristine...
The Fanatic warranty is the same as the standard warranty, except that it does not expire. The bamboo is not excluded, but like other components, it is covered for any form of "failure" but "abuse" doesn't qualify. That said, there are potentially a number of reasons to justify sending the...
Good grief @ataxian - you've got a Fanatic unit there with a lifetime warranty! Send that puppy in and it will get new guts (better performance) and a replacement bamboo!
:myday::rockon::peace:
Only you, and The Shadow, knows.
Can you get a restocking date from VXL? A commitment to the 4/20 price with a wait for the bomb? They'll probably cut a deal to get your bread.

Of course choice of glass is very subjective, very personal. You'll get a very wide range of responses here. That said, note that the Calyx uses a circ percolator. I haven't personally used this piece, but as a general rule circ's are kinda chuggy compared to other percs. My first HT was a...
I took a similar tack to what you did, except I got my second standard unit from the campaign. Still having my OG doing great, and my Vectra too after the upgrade, I decided to sell my other EVO to a friend who had been begging me to but his wife wouldn't let him spring for the whole cost of a...
Your unit sounds like mine did at that time. At maybe about 1 year I sent it in to replace a faulty switch and VXL swapped out all the guts, including the bamboo. It's performed perfectly ever since.
I presume you weren't in the "Fanatic" group? Those units all have a lifetime warranty...
I would treat those temp markings as approximations. The EVO is an analog device, the temp at a given setting will vary a bit from one unit to the next.
That said, fwiw . . . there was a helluva lot of discussion about temps in the original Cloud thread (and in other vape threads too, like for...
Long ago I used a setup for another vape that was like what VXL sells. I probably got the adapters from aqualabtechnologies.com, but possibly at one of the other main online vape stores. A female 18/19mm is necessary for the EVO, your glass piece will take either an 18/19mm or a 14mm assuming...
Just fwiw, maybe to add a tad more clarity . . .
First, as a reference point, in my previous life GE Medical was a client of mine. GE's imaging equipment used glass tubes which were hand-blown. GE could not develop a method to automate the process. Even though there was a tolerance range, the...
Good grief, what a royal PITA! Thanks a lot for the post and additional information. It is good to know that the bamboo was changed to accommodate the nail. I agree 100%, there should be a flowers bamboo and anything done to add concentrate functionality should not have compromised the...
There are many conceivable reasons for changing the bamboo. It may have had nothing to do with features or performance, could have been solely for manufacturing or cost reasons. I don't think we know. I would be surprised if accommodating the future nail was a factor in changing the bamboo -...
