Thanks for your comments TheOtherShoe. :) What you are seeing on the top of the PD is end grain. It is darker for a reason. The wood is in the same orientation as the tree it grew from (or 180 degrees, ie. upside down). The tree is like a bundle of soda straws, except they are much smaller...

Dremel makes a woodburning kit for 29.95 but you don't get the fancy box. Ace hardware and those kinds of places carry them. The Dremel is what Pammy used on many PDs before we went to the laser logo.

Thinking about other ways to distinguish the P-D Pandora. Maybe a different and distinctive leather. Snakeskin embossed Brown lizard embossed Real Elk hide

Yep, test everything. One item on the PD that would change on the PDP... I use a turned hardwood dowel glue it in and chop it off on my Power Miter Box. I would change that to plywood and have a precise depth stopped recess to accept it. Glue it in and it will be flush. Then glue the leather...
