I also do see the coils glowing slightly in the dark. For me they have to behave like that, otherwise, if I'd lower the resistance there won't be much vapor.

It works just fine with this method. You maybe just need a few degree higher temperature. The other option would be to make a capsule out of two basket screens, more for micro dosing though.

I really find this hard to understand? I'm using my ti tip at the smallest setting and even heating the cap at the lowest point with my single flame aomai lighter never lead to combustion as long as I respect the click. The bud gets very dark but never to combustion.
