I'm not sure if the serial # is tied to the purchaser , since anytime i've needed service, after checking my serial #, they ask for name and address;). They will of course be able to tell if it's a legit Pax ,by the serial #.

Oh, i agree that there was no way to avoid surgery either time. I'm just saying that they are supposed to tell you about all the risks . It might even be in that crazy consent form they made you sign .
