Potentially because it’s still in preorders, but probably just because no one’s asked to move it out yet?
Edit: and there we go! Officially out of prerelease.
As impractical as concrete for casing is, I actually love how the whole absurdist design turned out. Not a terrible price either for what is basically a rebadged Rancilo Silvia, would make a fun statement piece. Hard pass on the knob though, that part was always the first to fail on my old machines.
The EU orders are a different team entirely, afaik he’s only handling the UK orders (order numbers starting with P). Based on his estimates, your order will probably ship Wednesday to Friday this week.
I usually use a screen on the bottom to keep the little bits from dropping into the oven (especially when my stuff was super dry). Don’t see any reason why you couldn’t put a screen at the top of the chamber too, but I never bothered since the stems were so easy to clean
It should still work, just not as quickly as with other devices. According BFG’s site the Tempest works at a max of 75w, and could be faster with a non magnetic sleeve.
For the toad list you’ll generally get notifications every few months about a raffle (most recent was in June iirc). Also got an email when I joined the waitlist a year ago, he might’ve just missed you?
Ah perfect, that does help the maths! I’m definitely a lightweight at 1-2 bowls (0.1-0.3g total) per session depending on if my wife wants any. Probably can get away with just a pair for the toad + my firewood spares then if I am away from a charger for a while!
Makes sense, was mostly wondering if the battery life is about the same as the Firewoods, or a little less since I’d imagine the Toad should have more active heating time? Guess I won’t really know until it’s in my hand and I have my technique down though 😅
How battery hungry is the Toad? With my Firewoods I tend to use ~1 fully charged molicel to fully finish a bowl (~10-20 heatups) since I don’t have the lungs for particularly large rips. Is the Toad roughly the same? I saw some previous posts mentioning 3-4 bowls per battery, but not sure how...
From what I’ve gathered, the cooling units are basically identical and the only real difference between the Revolve and the Tempest sleeve is the radiator sleeve.
From the tempest preorder page (hidden under the “Get it cheaper with a Revolve CU” accordion, bold added for emphasis):
Got an update last week, sounds like Dan and spouse are on the mend! My toad should be shipping out soon, really excited to try it out, it’ll be my first fully manual vape since the MFLB!
That’s fair, they do write in that sort of voice, but looking back at post history they write the same way back in 2020 in the RBT threads before the new LLM hype wave. My guess is they’re an enthusiastic Korean native speaker who uses translation software since I saw some untranslated...
Likely not, the j tubes I have are basically the same width as a dynavap, and doesn’t look like the Santa Cruz one is much wider, but was planning to test when mine arrives!
Let us know what you find! Would be really neat if it does work out!
Glad you enjoy it! I had a similar moment when I got my Firewood 7, it’s such a familiar but less fiddly ritual compared to my MFLB. So far I’ve only regularly found those 2, but at least in my opinion they don’t seem to cool too much better the stock stems, but I also don’t really notice much...
Ah, definitely same vein as the diamond shruumz then, they have the same disclaimer on their product pages despite testing positive for psilocybin and muscimol. I’d definitely steer clear and just grow or forage my own magic mushrooms until they’re finally legalised, these synthetic alternatives...
Definitely be careful if they’re anything like the Diamond Shruumz candies that have been in the news lately (for those who may have not seen, here’s a link to the cdc page). At least with the ongoing investigation into Diamond Shruumz, they contain unspecified quantities of one or more...
