In the 1 1/2 years I have had my E v 3.0 the only glass to break was an elbow. And that was when I was removing the stock tubing from the elbow. The 1/4" id silicone tubing works fine since it is much more elastic. Also if you have any plastic taste with the stock tubing, you will not with silicone.
