One of my sharpest folders was $5 and has a spiderman scale if that says anything...
Blade says china 440 but I swear this thing cuts through phonebooks like butter.
I buy cheap knives to practice on the stones, I guess I ger very good edges ecause there is no anxiety of ruining a $5 knife
:)
Recently move into apartment with My GF this week.
Super tired from all the moving and STAIRS!
Plus side, we got a puppy! Shiba inu w/ papers :D
Adorable, makes any grown man go 'awe' I shit you not.
I have 2 dogs and one clearly does not like it (he smells it and moves away), as my other dog (she sits your lap licking your face almost asking for a hit).
I hate when I see people blowing smoke into a pets face when there is no option for the animal to back away. That's abuse.
Not sure if I'm using my thermovape properly, but I let it warm up for 30 seconds and begin vaping because nothing is happening at the 10-20 second mark.
But after about a minute of holding, thermovape really starts working up a storm.
I'm good now
I love your avatar!
Not sure what it is, my GF watches these YouTube videos for meditating and usually has that symbol on the videos.
The guitar sound OM is very relaxing.
Anyways, I suffer from anxiety and I found breathing deep and slow helps most panic attacks for me.
There's no hamon on that knife as it's pure steel.
My lesser grade Yanagi has the hamon line as it's clad (harder steel core and softer steel layer).
Anyways, I read fake hamon only occur on china made 'japanese' knives. But I'm not 100% sure on that, I'm not very knowledgable on the subject.
About to order this beauty to match my regular finish (kasumi).

It's on sale :)
Originally got the lansky for my kukri, but it's a terrible stone to use.
I may leave the heel alone, as he says he only uses the tip for skinning. I just think it'll look weird because heel bevel will be concave and tip bevel will be ground flat...
Tip and belly isn't the issue, the issue is thg the heel of the knife sinks in (reverse belly?). This part can't even touch the stone...
I have a lansky but it's like 200 grit...
Serious! No one wants a faux tanto tip on a sebenza
Ugh, my boss gave me his Buck hunting knife to sharpen, thing has a curved blade, cannot sharpen curved blades on my stones.. Sigh
