So I'm finding that I'd like to have a carb cap option with more airflow than the 1 hole universal from NewVape. Anyone have good luck with a bubble cap or any other directional caps? I'm not sure if @NewVape710 was still planning on stocking those Coojo caps.
I have access to CBD extracts and THCA diamonds. I might try the latter as the pricing on the former is atrocious.
I tried a 450F -> 570F sweep tonight on the auber (Dish temps likely 330F-450F). It was interesting. I got a few hits that didn't milk up the rig, but were *very* flavorful. Then...
I'll attempt this and report back. I recently got done with an experimental week long tolerance break, and it significantly reduced the amount of concentrate that I need to use. Great for my wallet, but not so conducive to experimentation.
This worked great, thanks for the suggestion.
I tried a cold start last night, going from off to 570F on the Auber. It was OK, but I think I'd need to be taking much bigger dabs to make it worthwhile. The hits were pretty wispy when the flavor was at it's best.
I don't have a background in materials science, but from what I gathered from articles after the soak, a quench of -200C (-392F) is quoted on a few of the articles I found as the thermal shock resistance of sapphire. 450F to 212 or even room temp falls within that range.
I'll post if it does...
This is with the Auber @ 570F and the insert @ ~450F. Maybe I shouldn't admit this, but I accidentally tipped over my piece and water rushed into the Tbucket, instantly filling the dish with boiling water. I thought the sapphire was done for, but it survived. After that, I started dry swabbing...
I haven't been using terp balls and still seem to get some reclaim under the dish after every session. I ended up having the dish get stuck. I turned the Tbucket upside down over a towel with the coil removed and heated it with a blowdryer. I then used a wooden skewer through the coil cover...
I think I'd be willing to drop another 3 bills on a controller that had a nicer finish and could provide control over the temperature during the draw. Nice finish and decent interface would be necessary.
I got mine in today. First impressions are:
- It's really visually striking when you see it in person
- w/ sapphire - definitely more flavor and far (far) smoother than a SiC dish on a Vrod
- needs glass that doesn't tip easily
- angled joints require a bit of a balancing act to get the...
Wow, thanks for the in depth info. I've seen videos of people using other sapphire inserts for dabbing and they seem to be applying the dab with a tool, more or less directly to the insert. What's the proper procedure for loading the sapphire dish and taking a dab?
Pulled the trigger on the T-bucket banger w/ Sapphire dish from the CH sale. Can't wait for it to get here. I've been using my Vrod (SiC dish, 2 hole carb) as a daily driver for a while now, but I've moved over to primarily using concentrates. Keeping the Vrod clean isn't my favorite pastime...
I broke the Stereo Matrix that I got with my VRod, and replaced it with a CCG 12" straight fab with a SOL perc. I like it a lot. Easily stacks to the top with a light pull, and its not easy to get water up to the mouthpiece with any reasonable fill. I have access to pretty exceptional live...
@NewVape710 One thing I'd love to see, is a little storage bowl for terp pearls that would fit the safety stand (3004). I was thinking that a little AL bowl that had a handle/post that fit into the larger drilled hole on the edge of the stand, and the cup would hang over the edge. Think Mickey...
I'd like to see a collection box that sits in the largest cutout in the Safety Stand and Debowler (3004). I don't use the included debowler spike there because:
I don't want my cats to eat the AVB
potential to scatter
picking up the base to dump it out is a little unwieldy.
I'm thinking a...
