Are you taking the Ti' tip into consideration when you're adding up the total length? 'Cos it should be: Ti tip+Woody body+XL/MP (mouthpiece doesn't add any length to the XL BTW) Maybe that's longer than: OG+XL/MP :hmm:

I'd describe it as "collars" wrapped around the ends of the wood tube. I think they're intended as extra insurance against the pressure of the tip, and mouthpiece being inserted into the body splitting the wood. :2c:
