    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I've never tried DeOxit and I never will, based on the Hopper Labs recommendation not to put "any other substance" on the threads or back end. Blu-Tack works well for me. You're not actually applying a substance to the threads, just using it to pick up the residue.

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

Also note that the information regarding the use of De-Oxit was removed from the "Grasshopper Fixes" thread on 12/1/2016: I think that cleaning the back end threads with Blu-Tack can be helpful in certain circumstances, but the residue on the threads is not always associated with performance...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I don't believe that everything has to do with the body. I think the back end has its share of problems too. Have either of you tried a thorough cleaning of the back end threads with Blu-Tack (both on the back end and in the body where the back end screws in)? And a light sanding or cleaning...

I made my Sony VTC5A purchase based on this: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/why-do-people-prefer-sony-vtc4-instead-of-vtc5-or-vtc6.300938/ "The VTC4 was the long standing King of the realm the VTC5A has taken over, it is a 20 to 23amp CDR battery able to be flexed and pushed toward 28amp...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

@JoeMama Good to know about the De-Oxit. Thanks for clarifying. I have three working Hoppers in rotation. I use them in different situations. All are working satisfactorily, none have had RMAs, all perform slightly differently. In February 2018 I purchased another Ti Hopper. When I received...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

The use of Deoxit was discussed often and at length much earlier in this thread. Folks were using it to clean the threads on the back end and the body. It seems like it fell out of favor quickly. I think that HL may have advised against it. Does anyone think that maybe it's just screwing and...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

The only thing that will kill this with the FF2 is accidental combustion. Be careful with your temp settings. Have something like an odor proof bag to throw it in in case you combust. If you sense combustion stop drawing immediately and put your hand over the mouthpiece hole. It's happens...

I've ordered a different mod for my StemPod. I bought the Joyetech eVic Primo 2.0 228W. I have been using an Eleaf iStick Pico 75W with a heat sink. Using AF firmware. At one point I could get the mod to read the proper resistance of the SP (about .24 Ohms) and act as expected when using TCR...

You didn't mention your TCR setting. I believe that setting the TCR too high will result in the mod calculating the temperature too low. This can result in the mod never believing that the set temperature has been reached, and the mod will never power cycle. Remember that the mod is only...

I never noticed any significant odor coming from my Stashpod. Mine is well made and pretty much odor free (well it does smell like wood). I have been experiencing inconsistent behavior with my Stempod and AF powered box mod lately. I believe that the resistance of my stock Clapton coils is...

My main use of the SP is to reduce the demand on my Grasshoppers. I definitely prefer my Hoppers to the SP, but I worry about them breaking or wearing out. Whenever I don't need the convenience or stealth of the Hopper I prefer to use something else. That used to mean one of my Firefly 2s, but I...

How do you vape in public?

The biggest stealth killer that I experienced with the MFLB was combustion. I recall it happened a number of times when I still used the MFLB exclusively. Even with the technique that I felt was "perfect" I experienced a few random combustion events. Weed smoke is way more detectable by more...

How do you vape in public?

The Pax Era is the stealthiest vaporizer I own. I have a tri-fold wallet, and the Era is actually small enough that I can put it in my wallet and fold the outer flap over it. It doesn't fit in with the bills, but just on top of the two folds, so the third fold can cover it. I do that when...

I bought the short wooden capsule stem with glass stem insert from lamart.ch: http://shop.lamart.ch/index.php?route=product/product&path=64&product_id=303 This is working well for me with the S&B dosing capsule. I'm using TC mode on my Eleaf iStick Pico 75W. The capsules require some attention...

    Discontinued The Grasshopper

I’ve got 3 Hoppers in rotation, all have worked well since I got them. The oldest has occasional issues but they’re pretty minor and aren’t enough to make me take it out of rotation. Some of my Hoppers turn ABV darker than others, even with the same strain, batch, grind, and temp settings. But...

Hopefully this link works for you: https://www.ebay.com/itm/142751725276 The listing was for "510 Kepler 22mm Stainless Steel Heat Dissipation / Heat Sink Kepler 22mm" and was sold by e-Bay seller "monkeybizzness01".

I can't say what's "normal", but I use a heat sink with my SP and my mod reads the stock Clapton coils at .24 Ohms at room temperature. I believe that is consistent with the resistance others have reported without using a heat sink. I got the same e-mail with a tracking number. I should...

I use a heat sink with my Eleaf Istick Pico 75W and the StemPod. Works great. I would say that extraction is one of the strengths of the SP. It's pretty easy to combust with the SP if you're not careful with watts or temps. I've started messing around with TC mode using TCR, and I feel much...

    StemPod by MPL

I tried the S&B dosing capsules with the StemPod and came away wholly unimpressed. My desired outcome was a system to minimize the amount of herb that needs to be cleaned out of the SP chamber between uses, to reduce the likelihood of combustion, and to simplify loading the SP. I managed to...

Thanks to all of those who responded to my question regarding glowing coils. Lots of useful info... The last time I used my StemPod I managed to achieve combustion. I'm using it in wattage mode, set to 40 watts. I used a 3-4 second "preheat" before releasing and re-pressing the fire button on...
