From what I can see it doesn't appear you're having any electrical issues with the existing power supply so I probably wouldn't bother messing around with different ones.
All the in-line style ones are of approximately the same quality which isn't horrible but isn't anywhere near great.. just...
To use a lab style supply with screw posts you can just use 2.1mm (2.5 will work but the vapes are 2.1) cords with stripped ends to fasten directly to the posts. You could also cut down existing cords with some wire strippers. They're all simple 2 conductor wires, no ground or anything you can...
Heya Dogs we're working on getting site refreshed and drop some new pieces here this evening.
Not as big a refresh as we wanted but I'm once again waiting on a late power supply shipment.
Anyways they should be up in an hour or two and there should be 5-6 Alphas, a single SC3+, a handful of...
Hahaha well damn dude if I'd known you were gonna post that pick I'd have taken a glamour shot not one of them so lathered up in Underbutter for shipping.
I'm not personally an expert on lower heat vaping but it's certainly possible with any of the cores.
The biggest challenge is finding exactly the right voltage to give the results you want. People have a hard time believing how big a difference
a small .2-.3v difference can make but it can be...
Ah I see your concern...
No worries - there's no stain on any of our vapes it's just the natural wood rubbed down with the underbutter mixture and sometimes on the glossier ones maybe some carnuba wax. So nothing to worry about sweating out or rubbing off.
Right on, happy to help!
Yep the tin of underbutter is for keeping the wood moisturized and nice looking. If you've got crumbs stuck to the finish I'd brush those off with a soft rag like a t-shirt or something (you can use it slightly damp if needed) and then dry it (if damp) and apply some...
It does function like an overgrown NonG and it should hit a bit harder than the GonG since the stainless heats up and
can add more conduction heating to the bowl (if allowed to) than the GonG which is mostly convection. The 'indestructible' nature is nice as well. :2c:
I'm hoping for Friday.. we'll see how it goes in the shop though.. I'll give you peeps an update during the week.
Haha no worries dude it's yours you can do whatever you want and it sounds like a nice mod that worked out just how you wanted. :science:
Are you asking how far the SC3+ core tube inserts into the Hybrid Stem(s) tip?
If so it goes in until the tip of the stem comes to rest on the top plate of the core just like the Glass Direct Draw Stems and GonGs do. So yeah the bowl size is functionally the same as the glass stems.
If I...
Ok cool, I wasn't sure so thanks for clarifying.
For the record I wasn't trying to be unamicable I just get in 'engineer mode' and get very terse sometimes.
I designed the Alpha to be a specialized, high performance device that would only be suited to maybe 10% of vaporists and when
we...
I'm not sure if you're being condescending so I'll just assume you're not and will try to respond accordingly.
Pretty much every supposition you made in your comments are wrong.
The users who have had difficulties with an Alpha have had them because they haven't been able to control it...
A new user sent me a message after getting their Alpha dialed in and said 'holy shit this thing hits like $10 of quarters in a tube sock!' and it got me to thinking.. how many people really need hit with $20?
Also made me think I should probably choose this person for my dodge ball team at...
Haha nice! Glad to see you got things running smoothly already..
I was hoping the carnuba wax base I used on that one that's all gunked in the voids would melt/dissolve in with the first full time session but doesn't look like it did.. that was my hope anyways when I put that stuff on...
The SC3 uses the heaters that are the coolest running, the SC3+ the middle ones and the Alpha the hottest.
This is why we can't use voltage to compare vapes. 12.5v is like 11v or 10.5v because of the different heaters. :science:
Lol on purpose like a 'hold my beer' scenario or just to play mad...
Heh.. I like the way you think but I'm one step ahead of ya in that this Alpha is that new core with the higher thermal mass. The original Alpha was a limited run product we put out back in 2017 and performed great but had a pretty low mass so had a longer recovery.
Yes, this is...
Hey SquirrelMaster, glad things arrived safely and thanks for the day 1 observations.
I'll let you play more and experiment a bit but I wanted to chime in with an observation of my own that may benefit you and other users...
As you probably noticed our 'instructions' are very minimalistic and...
