Man the v4 top is so much better than the other ones, you can screw in your carts all the way and they do not wobble at all. This was one of my pet peeves using the persei.
My 1st experience was with the volcano about 6 years ago. After trying that and not wanting to spend $600 dollars on my own, I found the extreme q and was very happy.
Got my v4 top in the mail today through warranty repair.
You can see in the picture that the top is a little bit taller than the older ones(hammer top is shown)
You do not need the hammer top to run the hercules, but it does allow you to just press the button once and keep it on as needed(for the herc) instead of having to hold the button for 10+ seconds.
There customer service seems fine to me, I have received a reply same day on a sunday about a price match, but I agree that we need those fc member codes!
They are probably trying to think of a way that cannot be abused by non members just doing a google search, which sounds tricky to me. Maybe...
It will work the same with the 8 and the persei, the point of that video was to show that it does work with the 8, and that you just need to set it right.
I have had a few eye surgeries and do get them. I read somewhere that they are normal, but if you are seeing a lot of them to check with your eye doctor.
So touching your metal dabber and then pulsing the heat will not cause a short? I must have had a v2 top because I was pulsing the heat on/off while holding the dabber inside and it shorted the top + made the spring collapse. But now that I am using the hammer top I do not have a problem...
Anyone used the nogoo nonstick concentrate tool for loading the herc? I think it could work well, put the glob on then just insert the dabber and pulse the heat slowly to have it slide off with no worries of damaging the ceramic, or shorting the cart.
