If you are in close proximity with friends who you don't want to know that you vape, edibles (such as oil shots) could be more practical.
If they don't know what cannabis smells like, you could always just say that you are vaporizing some herbal teas.

People grow tolerances to specific strains quite quickly. I use very little as well, and so, I only by 1 gram each month.
I know that this isn't very cost effective compared to buying in bulk, but I get my herbs reasonably fresh and can have a different strain each month.

Yeah, except for the fact that Zaps are only offered in the myrtle hardwood and contain brass. Brass has a taste to it and I'm slightly schizo when it comes to brass and it's close relationship to lead.
