I don't use my FW3 much lately, however I have had instances in the past where the coil would do it's initial heat up and would not go out. I had to take the batteries out to turn it off I think. It sounds like your device has a short or something that is causing the coil to stay hot.

Are the threads on your ego battery gunked up? Ego batteries run at 3.7v which is higher than the preferred 3.3v for most prefilled carts so long draws make the oil more runny and it gets on the threads which can cause a clog. Qtip and alcohol will make a big difference if this is your problem.
