It could be your oil pen is running at too high of a temperature or the quality of your oils could be another factor. Can you adjust the temperature of your pen?

I gotta try out the hookup with a bubbler, I have an EQ and its great. Have you considered adjusting the temp or experiencing with lower temperatures. It seems the eq varies for everyone in regards to what temperatures to use.
