The Purple-Days uses #5 Polypropylene, not Nylon. Others do use Nylon.

The PD runs at about 385F. Paper combusts at 454F ( edit: oops! 451F) according to the book. But the body isn't paper, it's solid hardwood and since the temp isn't variable (we only supply 12 Volt power supplies) the temps remain well below combustion. We run several 24/7 and have since day one...
