I disagree, I don’t see how such an unstable situation can be managed in a way that it makes a meaningful difference in terms of smaller particle numbers available whilst also being at a manageable temperature to breathe in. I really do think the resulting vapour from a theoretically successful...
@hotmeals
In fairness to inverted. He was using some simplified analogies and imagery to help visualise his point for someone like me with limited technical knowledge.
I mean with respect to John, he’s kept his claims quite vague so there’s always some wiggle room when the claims inevitably...
Don’t forget that 95% convection thing in the sneaky Pete interview that he totally didn’t make up on the spot. John says some wacky stuff sometimes but at the same time he inarguably makes world class vapes
@eyevape not sure if you’re interested in some technical discussion about it, but if...
I don’t really know to be honest with you. I’d imagine it’ll be a slight revision of the flare in future batches that makes the change, unless there’s a way to update the firmware over the wire with a PC. It will work as it is though, just not sure where the performance ceiling would be when...
Maybe that could be the case. Saying that though, I’ve watched many of his vids shot in the same spot and lighting as I quite enjoy them - the AVB is still light relative to AVB from other vids. I’d love to know what’s going on there
I’m not sure about blacksmithing prices or the process in...
Yeah it works, check out @Custom Flower Hardware who runs theirs with a flare.
I can’t remember if I saw the vid on here or vaporents but it works pretty well. His AVB isn’t particularly dark though, I’d love to know if that’s a conscious choice by CFH to run it low or yet more wattage...
Obviously subjective but I think the flare is the better next gen IH anyway. Better form factor, and the battery situation is preferable to those power tool ones the forge uses. Those ones the forge uses aren’t that widely available internationally compared to 18650 cells.
BFG just need to...
@TigoleBitties @Rodney
Okay so I’ve taken your advice and had a play around with the screens in the stem. I get it now. It does help to keep the holes in the stem clear by sort of lifting the load off it. I do find that the screen falls out very easily when debowling so it’s not great for on...
Interesting… I’ve always thought the max airflow was dictated by the oven as that’s what I’ve read, but if these stems unlock extra airflow I’ll be very happy to be wrong! Looking forward to trying the hi-flow even more now. Do you notice any impact on flavour with the metal mesh screens?
Yeah...
Just a heads up for UK solo 3 users - was chatting to Matt at rec vapes and he’s getting in some solo 3 cooling stems soon. Should be options for both a fixed glass screen and also a mesh hi-flow version.
Worth keeping an eye on! I’ll be picking some up when they arrive. I know I won’t get any...
@Knewt
Thanks for such a comprehensive answer. What specifically about the connection on the tornado versus the anvil is causing the fitment issues? You mention it doesn’t go on fully so I’m guessing it’s a shallower “socket” on the female end?
Was hoping it was just a bit bigger...
I wonder if glass dosing caps would be feasible and perform in a worthwhile way?
I feel like it would probably be more of a glass cup as I’m not sure how you’d make a reliable lid attachment system. The screen of the stem would act as a lid, and the bottom of the cup would have a sort of dot...
I’m so jealous, I love the look of the bakx. You’ll definitely enjoy that one, probably the best portable conduction vape out there right now.
My main vape is the solo 3 which is similar to the bakx in some ways, just not as powerful but much better battery life in return. It gives me a very...
Something else that hasn’t been mentioned yet, is the type of vape being used and how that influences the effects. If I use the same dose size of the same strain there is certainly a very noticeable difference in effect based on vape choice.
What vape do you use?
I find when I use a convection...
@invertedisdead
What are your thoughts on this sort of gasification/particle size reduction trend that has recently been revived from the ashes of the sublimator and its hotly debated claims?
I see a lot of people hailing the FK-Electropath combo as the hardest hitter they’ve ever used. Then...
Isn’t it the bit branded Vestratto that is the gas chamber? So not that big relative to the main chamber. Although the coppercore runs all the way down past that too, so it seems the heat is being spread quite far into the vapour path - which gives a pretty decent surface area to heat the...
I’m quite surprised the anvil and tornado ovens are so similar in size. Only really the length where there’s a notable difference. I mean, it makes sense that there wouldn’t be a huge difference given the size of the hole in the forge. I guess I just imagined the tornado to be quite big relative...
Thanks for posting this, I really enjoyed reading it as someone looking to use it with a torch.
Seems like a better anvil which is all it needed to be really. I’m especially happy this can RTL on such a small flame, one thing I like about John’s designs is how little torch power they tend to...
Another torch only user checking in.
The forge is very impressive but I have the solo 3 for when I want a laid back, no effort experience that still knocks me out.
For me, I find these sort of vapes very ritual based and as a result I always reach for the torch. I like to take my time, make...
