I've been using the Sic lately and I'm really liking the set up.
The Sic heat up faster than Zirconia balls, so you want to reduce the temperature / time when heating
If you are using an ispire wand I'd suggest starting with Mad Heaters guide in the manual
Start with 260c for time out...
I switched to Sic balls about a month ago, and I'm really liking them. They heat up faster than the zirc ones and are a little more punchy, which is great for native DTL or bong use
They do cool more quickly though, so zirc is better for a longer MTL session
I briefly tried Boro glass...
I use a plastic tube filled with ISO, and then run it through the ultrasonic cleaner. It comes out sparkling!
It didn't completely get rid of the discolouration of the zirc balls though. 10 seconds with a torch brought them back to white
If you are UK vapsonvaps.com sell them. You can also get the stem with a tip an quartz cap for £30
It has to be the best value herbal vape, and it's actually good.
I have one of vaphit quartz convection vapes, and it's a solid little vape. It definitely compares favourably to a Dynavap
Its...
I generally keep cap airflow open, and stem set to bypass. Pack it lightly
It takes a little while for the vapour to kick in when using Zirc balls. Keep your draw speed slow and steady. If you pull too hard can ramp up the temperature quickly and scorch your bowl
How are you heating it? If...
I have been really careful with the cap, and not touching the induction sleeve has helped keep the finger marks to a minimum,
But I have noticed scratches on the very top of the VI. I guess it's inevitable, and it probably can be polished out so it'd not a huge issue
That is just ridiculous! I got high from just watching the video
I've got some node CBD hash at the moment, and it's great in the Tempest. It's very squidgy, but it doesn't melt, so I just make little tiny balls of hash and fill the bowl halfway
It's a preference for me. I like to keep my AVB on the lighter side. I do one big lung buster, and a much lighter second cycle if I think there is a little bit left.
If I get it right the AVB looks like cigarette tobacco.
It looks light, but it's completely spent. I get similar results from...
Are you using a wand now? If so try setting the airflow on the cap open, and stem on closed setting
I'm now using the wand at 320c, on auto mode, waiting till it times out.
With the standard zirc balls it rakes a few seconds to ramp up. Gently give a few little mouth to lung draws. I like to...
I've been using both the wand, and a triple flame torch.
I don't think torching has changed the colour of the cap. I'm doing my best to not touch the bare metal, and so far there is very little discolouration so I think fingerprints are the culprit rather than the flame
I normally need to reheat my bowl twice to fully extract, and I get about 6 full cycles.
I always have spare batteries, but I'm finding a triple flame torch works best for me at the moment
Yes, orings are ISO safe. The only part not ISO friendly is the the wood sleeve
If you have the metal stem you don't need to take it apart, although it is recommended for a deep clean
Yes, I was team half bowl for the first week and I had good results straight away . I'm probably doing 2/3 now.
I actually have trouble not getting massive clouds out of it...
(it's a good problem to have 😤🥴)
I believe someone with a similar issue in the thread said putting more material in the bowl helped fix the issue.
I'm liking airflow on the cap fully open, stem set to fully closed, or restricted bypass. This is using the direct airflow tube in the mouthpiece
I think draw speed can play a...
I was playing around with my mini globe bong yesterday. I heated it with a triple flame torch, about half way past the second marker. I got a really good milky bong hit
It needed another cycle, but a grabbed my wand, and reheated as I was drawing. I stopped heating before the second marker. I...
Sorry to hear about your tempest troubles ☹️
I just did a quick test with a cyclone triple flame.
It took approx 32-34 seconds to get my indicator a touch past the second marker. This is normally the same marker I get to using the "time over" wand method
I have mine set with cap airflow...
I've got the black /ebony model. Does anyone know if using the wand will make the black finish on the cap fade?
I think I remember seeing one of the beta purple models fade slightly after using the wand a lot.
I started with the wand which does work very well.
The last couple of days I have been using a cyclone style triple flame, and I think I prefer it!
There is something nice about watching the VI move. I'm definitely still going to use the wand when I'm feeling lazy, or playing computer games 🤓
