No silicone is used, the white is actually teflon. The atomizer has the ability to be swapped to either a 14mm or 18mm connection. If you wish to use 14mm, unscrew the 18mm, and screw on the 14mm.

I think that has to do more with temperature settings; rather than anything being lost to the "sublimate". Enrico, future Sublimators will have the digital control box, correct? That would make temperature adjustments far easier than the analog dial.
