Thanks for the update Rick!!
Feels pretty good knowing my Rockzilla is part of the fabled seven.
hmm seven... Maybe this collection of seven needs their own classification.
Like.... The Seven Deadly Sins, The Seven Dwarfs, The Seven Wonders of the World, The Seven Samurai or the Seven Paths to...
I have the same unit! The online reviews aren't great but, i haven't had any problems. Have you tried to use the DC adapter on the unit to drive the vape? I was able to get the MLB PA to work no problem but haven't tried the DC yet.
All-in-all a good purchase for safety and preparedness the...
Yep, I am all hooked up now with a PA and WA. The 2700's are kicking great and the C9000 is keeping them in top shape. Thanks to your advise and video I upgraded from the LaCross BC 9009. I love the charger makes the battery component of the MLB a non issue.
Willuminati,
Have you tried running a battery for 1-2 minutes with an empty box to check how much heat you are producing? you should be able to use your finger and feel the heat off the trench. Also the bottom of your box should get pretty warm to the touch.
When I first got my box I thought it...
Rick,
You have just made my day again! I'm sure everyone who was on the fence about the Rock and decided to wait just cringed at that statement. While Kewpcer, myself & sounds like Smartrott are all flipping little cartwheels in the stomach.
Really looking forward to what you come up with. From...
Very nice Rick!
That is some good looking wood in the background of the Zap photo especially the Zebra wood (?) and the block in between zap 1 & 2.
Hopefully the RockZap production fires up this week, can't wait to have the new zap home, warm & ready for stems!
That's some beautiful wood!
Can you provide some additional information on the models themselves? What type of Power Adapter is used? 12v? 13v? What is the average temp at the delivery point? Is the air-path clean of all materials but SS? What type of warranty is offered? Do you ship outside...
Makes me want to bust out the old VHS (wonder where it is, haven't seen it for at least 10 years) just to hear Ricardo say that again.
Thanks for the update Rick,
Next week isn't so long in the "Big Picture" as you true-up the design and wait on parts. It's a good exercise in patience for those...
The rubber washer is a safe guard to make sure there is no contact with the battery unless intended. I took it out the first chance I got. Just make sure you are conscious that you MUST back the battery off or turn it over with intention. Took me a few scorched trenches to "Burn" it into my...
One of the reasons I've been coming back to this forum over the past few months is the level of maturity within the community. The above would have ignited a "flame war" in 95% of the online communities I have ever been involved in. Instead you all explained your position with grace and have...
Thanks Mom!
I appreciate the input. It seems to make the choice easy. RockZap it is.
The idea of a concrete liner around the heating element sits well with me. I'm not at all concerned with charring or the supply coming loose. Not because these things wouldn't happen... Instead, if they did I...
Well looks like it's settled then! (hound 1)
Rick sign me up for a RockZap covered in the gnarliest, funky, strange piece of wood you can find. I don't mind being a Guinea Pig for anything you want to "check out".
Still would like to hear what Mom has to say :)
Mom,
If you where going to pony up for a new Zap today would you opt for the SSS Rock Zap or a standard SSS? I know you have only had the RockZap for a couple days but, I'm sure your gut has a favorite allready.
Sorry to put you on the spot but as a customer with an order pending I value your...
Kewpcer,
You know I have to ask..... how come? Do you have some inside information you wanna share? Considering we're in the same boat I sure would like to know :)
Wahoo! Sounds like the magic begins for my zap on Monday/Tuesday! Here's hoping that the 8/8 batch is the prettiest enchanted wood Rick has seen in a while! It's been a long week waiting but, I know it will be worth it.
Nice solar panel! Thanks for the link!
I was thinking that you could use the panel & the MLB included charger for the batteries but, it doesn't put out quite enough juice. The charger requires 5.5v and the unit puts out 5.0 (the site mentions a "smart cable" that ups this amount, I couldn't find...
I also appreciate the links JD, I've been saving them up for the next "research" project. Hopefully can pull them together and get a sweet working set-up when I take the e-cig plunge.
Last year I tried the "BLU" package but it wasn't as satisfying as analog, I'm hoping the new models will...
I'm in the same boat kewpcer! If Rick is working on orders from 8/3 I still have a few days until he gets to my order on the 8th. Maybe my log will be part of the "new" myrtle batch.
Really getting anxious counting the days.
Told my pops about the new purchase, and he's excited as well. I...
