On my VB (with high grade medical mj) I set the dial somewhere between 10 and 12 o'clock depending on moisture content of the herb, my VB is a non hands free standard unit and I can move the bowl/wand around so the heat isn't just pointed in one area of the load just like you can do on a SSV...
Yep I bought this MZ in the for sale section here from foolie and he is a great person to do business with. and actually the VB is pretty simple considering how huge the hits are I get from it and it's just a box with a glass tube and ceramic heater.
Well I received my new MZ today plugged it in had some things I had to go do took about an hour came home loaded a stem and got about 5 nice pulls of of it, I am totally blown by this thing it is my new shop set-up.
and I know it's the wrong thread but.. here's the office set-up
Right and I personally find I can keep the whip at a less steep angle when meeting the face of the heater cover because it's not a hands free and after contact with the heater face is made and I'm already drawing air/vape so I start to rotate the wand around in a circular motion and I don't stop...
just wanted to show a pic of the new VB well new about two weeks ago, I'll post a review shortly but I wanted to show off the persian rug that it's sitting on. actually it's a mouse pad that you can get on ebay but it has the tasseled ends just like the real thing. yep thats the new avatar
without having the SSV whip in hand I would have to say they are almost the same.
Believe me the VW was on the short list of vapes I was looking at getting but after emailing vaporstore.com questions about the VW and finding that they wont be made anymore and then talking to people at vapor...
well my friends SSV is usually ready to in 6-8 minutes my VB is up the temp in about 3-4 minutes for my situation the 3-4 minute difference is huge because I sometimes have very short periods of time to take my meds.
P.S. I know heat times very from unit to unit and comparing one VB to one SSV...
I gotta say, I know some folks will disagree but I don't think the SSV has a thing on the VB in fact I think the VB does some things better like heat up time and cost. a friend of mine owns an SSV that I have tried many times so I do have a reference point.:2c:
you are absolutely right not all things period from china are bad but a US company that passes off a piece made in china as 'handmade in USA" that is bad. isn't china for the most part the country that keeps sending lead based goods to our country?
Well I just bought the VB but the Kia was in the running when I was deciding which box style vape to get and let me tell you the VB is awesome but that's another thread.
well just to report back I waited and waited for Kiaman to send me pics of his factory "here in the USA" and still no reply I have given this guy chance after chance to disprove that his vape is really made china I have had no response and when I call there is no one there to answer my questions...
Thanks for the reply I think you hit the nail on the head it seems that I'm running my vapes through a bong with water/ice most of the time so something like this just makes sense.
Man the more I look at this thing I'm thinkin this is the handle/electronics of the VHW if you look where the screw that holds the body of the iron together it looks like the same point that the heater cover on the VHW is attached.
well me and a friend of mine who's a machinist have an idea using something like this along with a vaporwarez vapor cannon standard heater cover, my friend is going to machine a collar with the same threads as the VC so the heater cover could be easily unscrewed and the unit used as a hotstick.
