I see a lot of people posting about their TCR value on their DNA mods. I have a handful of DNA 75s and I don’t see anywhere to input a TCR value, even in the escribe app. I load material profiles and set max wattage and temperature. And this has always worked great for me but I’m still curious...

I’ve used both Nickel 200 and SS316 as material profiles for the Splinter on DNA mods but the best thing to do is download the custom Splinter material profile off escribe that another FC member created. There’s a link a page or two back from someone else asking.

First hit I had it sideways in the IH, every hit after that I held the VC upside down and had no problems.

I never tested hash. I’m not much of a hash consumer, it’s more like flower than Concentrate to me since it doesn’t fully melt. I’m sure it’ll work in the coil but might make things messy quicker. Maybe another beta tester will chime in on if they used hash.

I was dubious as well but somehow in all of my testing Concentrate never got through the coil and onto my screen. The condenser does reclaim up faster.

The Concentrate coil will be available for purchase Feb. 14 and costs $25. As an early beta tester I can tell you guys these do work. I never had to take my screen out but I can see how it can make things easier. I would give my cap a preheat without any Concentrate, then load Concentrate on...

With a little help here I was able to give my Imp another go. I adjusted the coils so there were no contact points and now have it going with good results on my DNA mod. I quickly settled on a TC setting using the SS 316 profile, 500f, and 16-16.5 watts. I didn’t do a ton of rips in a row, 2-3...

Thank you dude! I just checked and it looked like there was a contact point on that part of the coil. I used a toothpick to correct and quickly fired it up at 15W and no more glow or apparent hot spot. I fired it dry but I’ll try it again tonight with a load. Thanks for the tip!

Received my pre-order Bocote Imp today. Won’t try it out until later tonight but but first impression is all about how SMALL the Imp is. It’s so cool. And the beaded mouthpiece is killer looking too. This little guy is very portable with the right mod.

Are you sure it’s ash? Ash shouldn’t be able to made in a Crafty since it doesn’t ever reach combustion temperatures. If it is ash, then I would guess something is wrong with the unit. On the other hand, if it’s not ash, it’s possibly just little bits of flower that got through the top screen...

I prefer buttons as well, sometimes the battieries without buttons are difficult to know if they are working.

I wonder if we will be getting some custom Escribe settings for the Imp from @HerbieVonVapster at some point. ;)

Had to go ahead and order a pre-release Imp. My Splinters are giving me the stink-eye but I’m sure they’ll accept the Imp in time.
